Mrs.Han cried as the medical staff put Jia on the stretcher, she was unconscious, she had wrapped her hanky on her bleeding wrist.Jia felt so down and hurt by Mr. Han's words that she cut her wrist.
"How did this happen? Why did she do that? She was alright yesterday!" Mrs. Han whined to Mr. Han when Jia went inside the ER.
"I don't know but that's not important right now. Just pray she comes out alright." he said feeling a heavy weight on his heart.
Mrs. Han sat on the chair and started crying heavily. She had already lost a daughter, she didn't want to lose another one.
"If something happens to Jia, I will kill myself this time. I can't see my another kid dying in front of my eyes." Mrs. Han whimpered.
After a few minutes the senior doctor came out.
"She is alright now, she didn't lose much blood because the cut wasn't that deep. We have attached some drips to her, she will regain her consciousness in a few hours." The doctor replied."Consider getting a therapist for her, it was a suicide attempt."
"Thank you doctor and we will seek professional help for her." Mr. Han sighed and Mrs. Han closed her eyes in relief yet she was confused why Jia did that.
-
"You don't like apples, right? But when it comes to perfume notes, you suddenly like it." Mrs. Han smiled at her daughter, cutting some fruits for her.
She was trying to start a conversation with her, but her silence was making her restless. She liked her daughter, roaming around cheerfully.
Jia looked lost, she wasn't replying to anything and Mrs. Han didn't want to rush things up, the doctor had advised her to not ask anything that may trigger her.
"Open your mouth, you look so weak. I bet you didn't eat anything the whole day." she said moving the strawberries near her lips.
"I don't want to." she softly pushed her hand away. Mrs. Han's eyes teared up.
"Why are you punishing me like this? You know I can't see you like this." she hugged her daughter. "Now tell me why you did that? Do you know I was on the verge of dying after seeing your bleeding wrist? Why did you act so selfish? You didn't even think about me!" she said and Jia hugged her Mom.
"Mom, please make Dad understand. Why is he treating me like that?" she said incoherently.
"What do you mean? What did Syeok do to you?" she asked cupping her face.
"It's all because of him, you know what he said? He said he didn't care if I died, in fact it would be better if a disobedient daughter like me died. It hurt me so much." Jia started crying. She had always wanted her Dad's validation so his words hurt her a lot.
"How could he say that?" Mrs. Han was mad now. "You are my beautiful daughter, you don't deserve this, I want you to live a happy long life as you deserve." she kissed her forehead.
"He said I can't marry the guy I love, and that he will find some other guy for me instead. He didn't have a problem with Jungkook when Aria chose him. Then why is doing this to me? He is being unfair!" Jia hiccupped, she was having a panic attack. She had severe anxiety.
"Who do you love? I promise I will get you married to him." Mrs. Han asked desperately.
She was ready to get her daughter's happiness from anywhere to her. She didn't care about anyone's disapproval.
Jia looked at the door as Mr. Han entered. Mrs. Han was glaring at him before standing up.
"You said you didn't care if Jia died? How could you say that to her? And why are you not letting her marry someone she wants? You have to understand it's her life, why do you want to control everything?" Mrs. Han started with her questions and Jia wiped her tears. "You may not care about her happiness but I do. Your actions and words brought her here. I was very close to losing my daughter because of you." she blamed him.
