There is the threat of physical abuse to force a decision on this page.

"I just don't see why I can't have the house. You are not going to fill it up with children." Allen sneered while sitting at the kitchen table. They both agree to sit and talk about the divorce idea. It was his blunt honest about what he wanted to took Kelli aback.

"This is my family home. I am not giving that up." Kelli fought to keep her composure.

"Like you will have a family now. Face it, this house will be wasted space if you keep it." Allen sipped from his glass.

Kelli got up and move to the counter. "This is my home, Allen. This is all I have left of my parents. I am not giving it up." She spoke. Suddenly the glass Allen was drinking from shattered next to her head, embedding a tiny shard in her cheek. She turned, blood running down her face like a tear. Allen was standing, wide eyed, and angry.

"You selfish bitch! I gave you ten years of my life and what do I have to show for it. No kids, no house! You will give me this house! I deserve it!" Allen yelled, stalking up to Kelli. She turned her face, cowering away as his hand started to rise.

The sound of the front door busting down, and deep roaring stopped Allen. Balthazar barreling into the kitchen, baring fangs. He saw Allen with his hand rise at Kelli and the blood on her face. Leaping to them, Balthazar picked Allen up by the back of his shirt and tossed him across the kitchen floor. Allen slid, only to slam to Dark's legs. Dark picked him up by the collar of his shirt and held him in the air.

"My wife would love to torture you slowly, making you feel every single ounce of pain that is possible. After a thousand years, she was perfected her technique." Dark growled at Allen who was now at the mercy of two very angry demons. "Kelli, what will you have me do with him?" Dark asked.

Kelli looked at Allen, her eyes welled up with tears. Balthazar wrapped her in his arms, he did not care anymore. She needed a hug. Kelli laid her head on Balthazar's chest. "Let him go, Dark." She took a breath. "Allen, you are to pack your clothes and laptop. Get the hell out of my house."

"I will see that he does just that." Dark lowered Allen to the ground. As Allen hurried up the stairs, Dark followed close behind.

Kelli's legs gave out and Balthazar scoop her up in his arms. Sitting her back at the table, he looked at her face. Balthazar gently pulled the glass from Kelli's cheek with his claws. He wet a paper towel and cleaned up her face. He sat in front of her.

"We were in the front yard when we heard the glass break. Sorry about your door. I broke it in half." Balthazar mused, giving her a half smile. Kelli reached out and pulled him into another hug. Balthazar wrapped her in his arms as they sat apart. He wanted to pull her closer, hold her to him. Not now, but soon he would.

"Listen to me carefully. You will go to the lawyers and sign the divorce papers and never bother Kelli again. I know your scent and I can track you down. That was my job in Hell. I bounty souls who ran." Dark warned Allen as he walked him to his car. He turned Allen around and let the sheer size of him frightened Allen. "I also have that woman's scent. The one who you have been seeing behind Kelli's back. Now, be a good boy and do as you are told." Dark opened the car door. Allen tossed his stuff in and drive like a bat out of hell. The neighborhood witnessed his departure.

"Hey, I am going to get a new door for your house. Do you want a peculiar color or style?" Dark walked back into Kelli's kitchen.

"No. It is okay. I bet Balthazar is just exaggerating." Kelli wiped her tears away. Dark held up half the door. "That is solid oak!"

"I felt it was." Balthazar groaned, rubbing his shoulder.

A very short time later...

Kelli held the signed, stamped, and state seal divorce papers in one hand and a wine glass in the other. There was barely any wait time to see the judge resigning over the case. Balthazar knew the judge was a regular at his restaurant and made a sweet deal if the judge go the case moved up. Kelli did not know that little fact.
