Dark's SUV rolled up along with Balthazar's Hellcat at the hospital. It was early Summer, and the triplets arrived. The birth was a planned c-section since there were four lives to take into consideration. Lillian and Dark welcomed two boys and a little girl. The boys were a combination of pale skins and nubs where horns would grow. The little girl had her mother's coloring with pale swirls. All had black hair and pale colored eyes. The boys would probably have their mother's green eyes where the girl would have her daddy's yellow eyes.
"Levi, Malakai, and Grace." Lillian said, their names when Kelli and Balthazar came to visit in the hospital. Kelli held Grace who cooed at her godmother while Levi fussed in his uncle's arms. Malakai was enjoying having mommy all to himself.
"Demon babies grow fast. By the end of the year, they will be running about." Dark said, taking Levi from Balthazar for the baby wanted to be held by his daddy. Balthazar looked over at Kelli who was rocking a sleepy Grace. She looked so content with a baby in her arms. At that moment, he wished that he could give her what she desired.
Kelli and Balthazar were busy placing the finishing touches of the large nursey before the family came home. Everything was washed and ready for the babies. Kelli smiled, looking about the cute space. The nursey was soft colors and forest animals with trees and flowers painted on the walls. Kelli wiped away a tear.
"Kelli baby, you okay?" Balthazar noticed that she was crying.
"I am happy for them. I am also jealous." Kelli laid her head on his chest. "I always wanted this for myself. I am happy to be a part of their lives. Now, I will get to spoiled babies rotten and send them home without worrying about the consequences." She laughed a little.
"If you spoiled them too much, Lillian might let you keep them." Balthazar wrapped his arms around her.
"We can convert the attic space into a playroom. I always wanted to do that. The space is large enough and would be easily configure for electric." Kelli smiled.
"Oh, the beginning of my first honey do list." Balthazar joked.
"The first is marrying me." Kelli joked back.
"Actually." Balthazar pulled away. He dropped to his knee while taking a small box from his pocket. "The first is proposing. This is not the setting I envision, but I have been carrying this ring in my pocket for over six months now. I am not waiting for the prefect moment because with you, it is always prefect. Will you marry me, Kelli?" Balthazar asked, opening the box. Inside was a beautiful fire opal in a pear shape in platinum setting.
"Balthazar. Of course, yes!" Kelli shouted, kissing him. He stood up, spinning her in his arms. Shaking, he placed the ring on her left hand. "Over six months, when did you buy it?
"After Thanksgiving. Dark and I were looking for Christmas presents and I picked it out. Dark told me that it did not look like a Christmas gift to him. I said, I know for it was more." Balthazar kissed her again.
'Did Lillian know?" Kelli hugged Balthazar.
"Hell no. She would have blabbed the moment she saw you." Balthazar laughed.
Even though Balthazar had moved in with Kelli after proposing, they were constantly over at the house, helping with the babies. Lillian was appreciated for the support for she was use to torturing souls, not taking care of babies.
Dark did not lie when he said demon babies grow fast. At six months old, they were the sized of two years old and just as fast. Kelli loved being their godmother. Their favorite thing to do was to curl up in the new playroom and listen to stories that Kelli would read to them. Balthazar would come home to find them all asleep in the huge bean bag with Kelli still holding the book.
