This chapter has the sex scene.
On the 1st of December, The DeMonaco House was covered in lights, like every inch. The tree trunks were wrapped up in lights. If it stood still, lights were adorned. Kelli looked from the street as Lillian was trying to figure out where to place more lights. The brothers were up on ladders, trimming the windows with lights.
"What do you think?" Lillian asked, munching on the sea salt caramel popcorn with chocolate drizzle Kelli made for her and baby. Lillian's sweet tooth increase tremendously with her pregnancy that Dark now had an account at Kelli's bakery. Kelli would bring home whatever did not sell to satisfy the soon to be mommy demon.
"You did say you plan to break fuses." Kelli looked in amazement.
"Next year, we have to do bigger for the babies." Lillian smiled happily, rubbing her stomach.
"Babies?" Kelli turned to her friend.
"It is going to be a one and done deal. We are having triplets!" Lillian explained. Kelli hugged her. "We found out yesterday at the doctor's appointment. We are over the moon. Now, that means Balthazar has to move..." Lillian started to say.
"You're moving!" Kelli yelled up at Balthazar who was reaching out to hang the last light strand. Kelli's sudden outburst cause him to twist and lose his footing on the tall ladder. Kelli screamed as Balthazar started to fall.
The sound of fabric ripping with the flipping of wings followed. Balthazar was in the air, holding the ladder so it would not crash to the ground. Kelli watched as he lowered himself to the ground bringing the ladder with him. He stood there, facing away from Kelli for this was the first time he had his wings out since meeting her. Taking a breath, he turned slowly only to have Kelli jumped in his arms.
"I'm so sorry!" Kelli was nearly in tears. "Are you okay?" She asked.
"I'm fine, baby. I did not really like that shirt anyways." Balthazar tried to make a joke, but the frighten look in her eyes made him hold her close.
"You're moving?" Kelli whimpered out.
"Kelli, baby. Only to the loft space once the babies are old enough to be in their own rooms." Balthazar said, kissing her forehead.
"Lillian said you had to moved and I thought like out now. Fuck!" Kelli wrapped her arms tighter around him.
"Kelli, I am sorry. I should have explained more." Lillian said, as Dark wrapped her into his arms. Seeing how Kelli reacted about the thought of Balthazar moving out, Dark knew that Kelli really loved Balthazar.
"We would not do that to you, Kelli. You know, you could just keep him in your basement." Dark joked.
Kelli giggled. "I would, but I just repaired my dad's old pool table. I am turning it back into the bar like it was back in the day." Kelli told them. Looking at Baltazar, she gave a small smile. "I guess you would just have to move into the master suite with me." Balthazar smiled at her, kissing her forehead.
Later, Balthazar was standing in Kelli's backyard with his wings out wide. Kelli was sitting next to the unlit fire pit, looking at him.
"Why did you think I won't like your wings?" Kelli reached out to touch the membrane. Instinctly, Balthazar moved his wing away, making Kelli frown.
"They get compared to bat wings and people don't like bats." Balthazar huffed. Kelli stood up and went to him. She stood close, looking into his pale eyes. Lightly, Kelli caressed the membrane with her fingertips, following the veins in his wings Balthazar closed his eyes for no one had ever touched his wings so softly before. He purred as Kelli's fingers roamed over the skin of the bone structure that was jetting out of his back.
