i didn't speak to anyone for the rest of the day, nor speak with my parents once i got home. i didn't eat or drink either, i felt too nauseous to do so. i also didn't sleep that night, not even a single hour of shut eye.
the only thing playing on my mind, was y/n. everything she told me had burnt a deep, stinging hole in my chest. how was i ever supposed to feel happy again, knowing that soon she was going to disappear forever?
it almost felt as if it was me, who's life was being taken away. i'd gotten myself so attached to the love of my life, only to find out she wasn't even going to be around for the majority of it. it hurt so bad. it ached my heart and pained my chest to think about it.
i was no longer the niki i once was. i knew for a fact that nothing was ever going to be the same.
life was done for. her life was done for. my life was done for.

september 24th
the next day, i met with the guys for first period. this lesson was the only class i actually shared with y/n. i was desperate to see her after what i had found out yesterday. it was as if every moment i had being near her presence, had to be made the most of before it was too late.
reaching my class, i was disappointed to see she had not yet turned up. sometimes she's a little late to classes, so i tried to relax myself by not instantly thinking of the worst possible scenario.
although, that soon changed once half an hour had passed. she had still not turned up to class. i was starting to panic.
"psst," i whispered over towards the girl sat in front of me.
she was y/n's friend, so perhaps she had an idea on her whereabouts. she glanced over her shoulder once she heard me.
"yes?"
"where's y/n?"
she shrugged, "i don't know."
my stomach folded in on itself in an uneasy, unsettling way.
i couldn't sit here and panic any longer. i quickly jumped to my feet and stormed out of the classroom.
"niki, where are you going?" my teacher called after me.
i ignored her completely, before starting a fast run down the corridor.
"no running in the corridors!" another teacher scolded me as i rushed past.
but again, i ignored them.
i ran towards the exit of the building, continuing out the school gates and down the street.
i knew where y/n lived as i had visited her home several times when we were dating. so, that's where i headed.
luckily, she didn't live too far from the school so it didn't take me long to get there. especially at the fast pace i was going.
