It was midnight, approaching four in the morning. Throughout the entire mansion, silence prevailed, with only the sound of rain striking the windows resonating in the quiet estate.
In the midst of the silence, a man diligently packing his clothes into a suitcase perspired profusely, feeling his anxiety escalate. Despite the dimness of the room, the distinct purple marks on his arms, face, and legs were visibly apparent.
He swiftly grabbed another piece of luggage, specifically a smaller one intended for children. In a hurry, he promptly accessed a different closet, which contained an abundance of clothing for kids. Feeling apprehensive, he hastily gathered a handful of garments and forcefully packed them into the luggage.
After completing his task, he promptly closed the luggage and proceeded to his dressing table to retrieve his car keys, purse, bag, and everything else that was on it. Subsequently, he noticed his own reflection in the mirror.
He gazed at his injured reflection in the mirror and swallowed nervously. The cut on his lip from being punched, the bruises that appeared unhealable, and the healed scars near his cheeks.
He described himself as a mess.
He appeared disheveled and unattractive, with scars that continued to resurface despite not being his fault. It was evident that someone had inflicted those scars upon him.
He clicked his tongue softly and averted his gaze from the mirror. Subsequently, his attention shifted towards a young girl, approximately four years old, who was peacefully asleep in the spacious bed.
The man let out a sigh, his lips forming a slight smile. Approaching the girl, he leaned in to gently push the girl's hair behind her ear. With a smile, he softly kissed the girl on the forehead.
The man then proceeded to carefully step off the bed, taking the two pieces of luggage along with him as he exited the room. He made sure not to create any noise in the mansion, feeling a sense of unease as he silently opened the front door.
After completing that task, he hurriedly made his way through the rain to his car. Once there, he proceeded to unlock it and open the trunk, where he stowed the two pieces of luggage. Following this, he naturally had to return inside to retrieve the girl.
Entering the mansion, he found his clothes wet from the rain. Rushing to his room, he felt relieved to see the girl still peacefully asleep.
He smiled, then approached the bed to carefully lift the sleeping girl. In order to avoid waking her up, he took hold of an umbrella resting on the bed and swiftly left the room.
He closed the door of the room, opened the umbrella to avoid waking the girl up, and then carried the girl in his arms under the rain while being sheltered by the umbrella. Eventually, the man carefully placed the little girl in the passenger seat.
Following that, the man stored the umbrella and proceeded to the driver's seat. Subsequently, he secured the vehicle and reclined against his car seat, exhaling in relief.
After he fastened his seatbelt, he glanced over to find the girl still peacefully asleep in the passenger seat. With a smile, he started the car, ready to begin driving.
Luckily, the gate of the mansion remained open throughout, allowing the man to successfully exit the premises by driving.
The man was peacefully driving out of the place until he noticed a man standing at the front door, observing him as he exited the property.
