narrative perspective

jisung found it weird that minho doesn't order cold drinks— specifically the ones containing ice.

everything he drank— be it coffee or tea, milk or water, he would always get a hot or warm one. it never contained ice or have been cold. maybe he didn't like his drinks in a low temperature? but he enjoyed eating cold desserts, so how could that be true?

one day, when the two happily married couple went out for a snack at a cafe, jisung wanted to try and get minho to drink an iced americano.

"baby, what would you like?" jisung asked his husband as he handed him the menu. minho briefly looked at it and said, "hmm.. maybe a coffee. can you ask if they have it warm?" jisung rolled his eyes playfully and grabbed minho's hands, not wanting to communicate with the employees. "can't you ask? you know i don't like talking to random people."

minho frowned and smacked jisung's hands away, knowing that the younger was only joking about it. "come on, stop playing around," the pout on his face did things to jisung's heart and he agreed with a simple laugh. soon later, a waitress had walked up to them to take their order and jisung had asked what minho wanted him to.

"i'm sorry, but we don't serve hot or warm drinks at the moment. is it okay if it was iced?" the waitress apologised to the male and jisung looked at minho. he pressed his lips together and thought about it, not knowing what to do since they didn't have what he wanted. "i guess iced is fine..." the waitress nodded and wrote it down on a small notepad, walking off once the orders were taken in.

"you're okay with it iced right? we can go somewhere else if you'd like." jisung asked while putting the menu under the table, eyes fixated on his husband's twiddling thumbs. "hm? oh, yeah, it's fine... i guess."

jisung smiled and a simple okay left his lips, a small smirk making its way to his lips as he cheered mentally in his brain. minho was completely unaware of his husband's devilish plans and was currently panicking about his choice of drink— specifically the iced part. what if jisung found out? he would never be able to live with the fact that jisung knew about his— ugh, he can't even think about it at that moment. how would the younger react to it? he kept it a secret for so long, in fear of jisung finding him weird or odd. but he had no choice now, does he?

"min, baby, you okay? you were spacing out for quite a long time there." minho cleared his throat and looked back at the male who was staring at him. he nodded and smiled awkwardly, making jisung cock an eyebrow. just when he could question the boy further, the very same waitress returned with their drinks and cakes, helping minho out of the conversation.

jisung sighed and thanked the lady, passing minho one of the iced americanos into his hands making the older shiver from the sudden contact. he took a sip from the straw, watching as his husband ate the cake first instead of drinking the perfectly iced coffee.

the drink was quite cold— probably freezing as minho considered it and he feared that a sound that he didn't want the other to hear would slip out of his mouth unexpectedly.

it wasn't the fact that the drink itself, the coffee which he was drinking, was cold. it was the ice and cup that bothered him a bunch. he found it weird that he felt pleased when something cold comes in contact with his skin, but everyone has at least a weird thing about them.
