7. Stylist

"Presenting 'The Victory of Love', by the students of our middle school!", announced the host, and the entire auditorium roared with Applause. Adding on further he said, "Welcome and cheer them on with a great round of applause!!"

It's being announced! The program is starting and I'm really excited! Everyone practiced a lot for giving their best for today and all I wish is for our group to be successful. We made many changes in the script as per our group members' suggestions and it came out very well. So... now, Lucas and I must act in many romantic scenes, including 5-6 kiss scenes and one song too! That's why, I'm also a bit nervous, just for the romance scene. During our practice, we used to get awkward many times which irritated other members, but it was awkward to act romantically with my crush, who had no idea about it. Well, this brings a question to my head, I like Lucas and so I was feeling uneasy. But he was blushing too and also getting nervous, does it mean he too likes...me? Oh my God, Oh my God! Stop overthinking, Jenss and focus!

Our play, 'Romeo-Juliet', is the grand finale of the program, being the story of legendary lovers. I hope our seniors love it.

(Backstage)

"What the hell!! This is not okay, sir! You can't cancel the booking at the end moment! Our program is almost starting in 30 minutes, and you are saying that you can't come? We contacted your company because we had heard a lot about the skills of your make-up artists and you're cancelling the booking like this? This is unacceptable!", yelled Juleka into the phone frustrated, with a notepad in the other hand.

"No.. no no!! This is not accep......", she was saying and then suddenly stopped. She was staring at the phone and then continued, "How dare he? He cut the call abruptly like this? He's gonna suffer making me suffer! I curse you idiot, you will go in huge loss, you son of a....." she cursed into the phone.

"Woah, woah... chillax, girl! What happened?", I said cutting her ranting, before she could complete the last word.

"Oh, Jenss!! Please help me! The organizers are going to be so disappointed in me! I ruined the complete program for our seniors!", she cried out hugging me in tension. "Hey, Jewel! What happened?", I asked in a worried expression, comforting her.

"The group of make-up artists for today that we had arranged, refused to come suddenly at this end moment. I don't know what to do, Jenss. I tried everything to convince them, even tried contacting other small companies for urgent bookings. But none of them could make it at this end moment. I messed up everything......", said Jewel with tears filled in her eyes. It hurt me to see her like that.

"Oh no, Jewel. Don't let those tears roll down. Don't worry! We will think of something. There must be some other way", I said.

"What other way? There's only one way, we need to help ourselves out of this mess, nothing else can help us", she said in disappointment. But suddenly her eyes flickered with a spark of joy, and she busted out, "Heyyy Jensss!!!! You!!! You can do great make-up, right? Why don't you help us? Please, be my make-up artist for today!", she requested staring at me all teary.

"Me? I'm not that good. I just know some stuff not too much. I'm not that professional. Besides, I know the Korean make-up style. What we need here is American make-up style", I explained to her.

"I don't mind. However it be, I know it will definitely be awesome. Anyway, your act is the last one. So, you could do the make-up for all the people, as their act will finish off beforehand. Please Jenss, please help me out! You're my BFF. Please! For the sake of this program!", she pleaded with puppy eyes that I couldn't refuse.

"Fine! I'll help you, Jewel. I will do my best with the American styling. So now smile, my Jewel!", I said cupping her cheeks. She smiled brightly and hugged me tightly, and so did I.
