"They shall not be weary, they shall walk and not faint" Lily and Sarah read out loud together.
They chuckled lightly and looked at the bible verse again.
"That would be our bible verse. Our motivation to keep trusting in GOD and his word" Sarah said. Her lips curved in a sweet smile.
She looks frail and thinner but has improved over the past days.
"Yes. It will be" Lily nods in agreement.
"Did you notice that I haven't lost that much weight in the past days. You know, when everyone discovered my predicament, it seemed like I was on a 'burn-these-fat-quick' diet but now, I look and feel okay" Sarah sounded excited when she spoke.
"The doctors have to confirm some things in your next visit, you know?" Lily mentioned and it dropped Sarah's mood a bit. "I don't want to make you feel sad about it, I am just stating the reality of things"
"I understand, but I don't believe in the reality of my condition. I believe this could go away if we all have the mind that it isn't there" Sarah said with conviction. She looked like she saw some kind of revelation she swore to hold onto with her life.
"This is hereditary" Lily reminded her.
"I know but I also believe this thing called 'imagine and manifest' or 'believe and manifest'. It might not have worked for everyone but I think if there's much focus on what you want as a reality, it would... come to pass" Sarah shrugged.
Lily tilts her head to the side and narrowed her eyes slightly in Sarah's direction.
"You have a strong conviction that this isn't real?" Lily asked in a whisper.
"Just don't let my mum hear. She might freak out that I also want to stop the medication" Sarah giggled.
"Let's not get crazy. I believe GOD can erase this sickness but I am not in support of you stopping your medication"
Sarah laughed. "You should learn to believe" she pats Lily's arm.
Lily's eyes went wide like saucers.
"I believe" her lips formed a pout "I am a believer, remember my encounter with Joshua at first? If I didn't believe in him, we wouldn't get this far" she defends.
"I am not questioning your belief. I am just saying my mind" Sarah told her. "I know as believers we might feel pressured to keep believing, even in the darkest of times else it might make us less of a believer or whatever." Sarah smiled.
"I don't think there's anything like that" Lily argued.
"You mean the pressure of being a believer? There is actually pressure" Sarah stood by her words.
"I might get that but the 'less of a believer thing' that doesn't sound true" Lily shrugged.
Sarah smiled. "I think it is. I watched this movie where a young Christian girl couldn't voice out her opinion or what she felt because her church members thought she was 'less of a believer' for not having that much faith in what GOD could do"
Lily frowned and looked at Sarah with an eyebrow raised.
"Because of that, she didn't realize she was losing the faith that took her years to build. She just found out one day that she felt empty and every belief and confidence she had in GOD vanished." Sarah shrugged "No one had to preach to her to stop believing, there was pressure and she couldn't find the true meaning and stance of her faith in GOD"
"So, that makes her less of a Christian?" Lily inquired, curiosity itching within her.
Sarah shook her head. "No, I don't believe anyone is less of a Christian if they don't believe in GOD or don't believe as much as they do. You can either be a Christian or not a Christian you cannot 'be less of a Christian'." Sarah explained.
"I am not speaking for the majority but I feel if you feel like your faith isn't as strong as it used to be or you feel like you are gradually losing your faith in GOD, you should voice it out, regardless of how people might perceive you.
"Being a Christian isn't a competition of 'who can have the most faith or preach the most gospel'. My understanding of faith and believing is, being able to express how we feel, even though we know we have gotten far with GOD and might have fallen short of his glory or maybe life happens and you feel that way" Sarah shrugged.
Lily had no words to say to that.
"I don't know if I am making any sense" Sarah added.
Lily smiled and wrapped her arms around Sarah's shoulder then lean her head on her shoulder.
"You made a lot of sense." She let out a sigh of relief. "I feel good knowing that. I am also aware that as much as unbelievers will be against the good we do and us preaching the gospel, some other Christians will not be big on the idea" she said, remembering her encounter with those ladies days ago.
"Yeah, it happens but those are one of the prices we have to pay as believers." Sarah shrugged.
"GOD will always be with us" Lily said with so much belief. Sarah nods in agreement and they continued reading the verse from the bible and claiming it to themselves.
