Wild Horses will contain the subject matter of domestic abuse that deals with physical, mental, and emotional abuse. Many people have endured each type or all three forms of abuse. While most have managed to escape the situation, others didn't. I wanted to present Amber's story in the rawest form and not glaze over it. While you saw bits and pieces of her life in the previous books, you will read the aftermath. I'm hoping that telling this story will bring light to a massive ongoing situation.
If anyone feels unsafe, please call 911 and order a large pizza. The dispatchers know this is code for domestic violence. They will dispatch authorities to the address with discretion: no lights and no sirens to alert the abusers.
There is also a universal hand signal for domestic abuse. Put your palm up, fold your thumb in, and put your fingers over your thumb, turning your hand into a fist.
