I scrolled through my phone trying to keep my eyes open. I texted back my cousin to let her know I'm still eating.  She's been bothering me all morning but that's nothing new. She's always bothering me.

She love beg essi. She saved her number in my phone of course. I just hope both our parents don't see it and make a big deal out of it. That's what they like to do. I remember when they were talking about searching our phones after school because they heard we had boyfriends.

They shut that thought down very quickly because it made no sense to go through phones. That's just stupid, I hate when they act like they weren't doing stuff when they were our age.

I just know someone from the community had to come up with that thought. All these people do is watch you and carry news and all that they tell your parents are never true. Just disgusting

"Kiyana uh bus driver a call uh..hurry up and drink di likkle tea nuh pickney" My mom Maxine shouted. I just tuned her out ever since I woke up she's been shouting. My eyes widened once I realized what she said.

Busta dark eno him will lef mi..joke but him will get bex seh mi tek long. Busta my bus driver has been carrying me to school from Mi touch 1st form. He's very nice and nuh look school pickney.

Well him nuh look mi nuh know bout the others.
"Come gwaan nuh gyal" Maxine said and I got up grabbing my bag ensuring I have everything to go to prison.

"Later Maxine" I said trying to be funny. Jamaican parents hate it when uh call dem by dem name essi like anuh suh dem name.

"Aye gyal gweh nuh" She said and I laughed. I walked to the bus stop not missing the black BMW parked at my house gate. Wait whose car is this??

"Mawning Busta" I said getting in my usual seat. The front seat. True a long time Busta a Caa mi him seh the front seat a fi mi. Hardly even talk to people to suh a di best thing fi Mi siddung a front.

I glanced at the rear view mirror to look in the bus. I didn't miss any of the dirty stares the girls in the back gave me. I just rolled my eyes then took my AirPods out.

It's nothing new just because I don't really talk to people they all say I act like I'm better than them. That's not even the case. The older you get the more you realize how fucked  up people really are. So that makes you distance yourself and keep out of trouble.
