To make a very long story short, young demigod or whoever is reading this, never drag a satyr's and two demigods butts across the United States, very bad for your temper. The train ride was absolute Hades, and I'm honestly wishing I had let Clarisse strangle Jackson when I had the chance. Viktor had to grab my arm while we were on the train to Denver before I could wring Percy's neck. "If he dies, we lose our only way to stay out of camp. Just hang on for a while longer, and then you can yell and scream and beat the Hades out of Dionysus or any of the other campers there" I huffed and slumped back down in my chair. Annabeth was regaling Percy with the story of her birth, one I had heard before, from all of the children of Athena at Haven. Mind you, I personally prefer other methods of birth, not the whole born-from-Athena's thoughts- story or sewed-into-Zeus's-thigh-story. (I'm looking at you, Dionysus) We finally got to The Gateway Arch. Grover started complaining about food again, and luckily for me, Annabeth dragged him out of the train cart before I lost my crap. We went to the underground museum when Percy asked, "Guys, you know the god's symbols of power?" "Yeah?" Annabeth said. "Well, Hade-" "We're in a public place... You mean our friend downstairs?" "Our friend way downstairs. Doesn't he have a hat like Annabeth's?" "The Helm of Darkness, Jackson. And Grover, stop being so paranoid about using the god's names in public. Yes, the Helm of Darkness is very similar to Annabeth's cap, except for it's a lot more powerful and deadly. It allows Hades to turn into shadow, use the darkness to conceal himself. If the Lightning Thief had any sense, they would have stolen that too" I turned and whispered to Viktor. "I've got a feeling that Hades didn't steal the bolt" "What?" "If Hades is pissed at Poseidon and Zeus, maybe that's how the Thief stole the bolt! By stealing Hades' helm, they would have been able to steal the bolt undetected. Which means whoever has the helm has the-" "The bolt! Lilly, you're a genius!" Viktor then turned to Percy and the rest to our group. "But why aren't we telling them?" "Because, if I'm wrong, we'll lead them to certain death. By continuing the original quest to the Underworld, we keep that out of the way, or at least until we find it to be uncertain death" Viktor nodded. He suddenly smelled the air. "Do you smell that?" I caught a whiff of blood and... "Monsters..."

The woman next to us grinned. "Echidna" "That's right, deary.  And due to the two of you not paying attention, your comrades have gotten onto a different car to the bottom, whilst the young son of Poseidon is currently dead at the bottom of the water" We looked out of the whole in the wall. There was no sign of Percy. I gave Viktor my swords. "What?" he asked, confused. "Take my swords, kill this mythic bitch, and find Annabeth and Grover. Percy and I will meet you there. Go!" Just then, Echidna pushed me out of the hole. The last thing I saw was Viktor taking my sword and slicing Echidna's head off, and then slicing the chimera's tail with his cane. I closed my eyes, plummeting to the bottom of the Mississippi.

5 minutes later

"Hey, wake up! I don't have all day," said a familiar voice. I opened my eyes and looked up at the voice. Triton, my ex-boyfriend, was swimming over me. "Hey" he said, waving. "How in the name of Poseidon are you here?" I asked, sitting up. "I was swimming up the coast when I sensed Percy Jackson and you plummeting to uncertain death at the bottom of this river. Luckily, my father sent a naiad to help Percy while I came to you" "Thanks. Anyways, how is Percy?" "He's fine. A little shaky, but fine. Viktor's with him and the others" "Great. Now, about your dad..." "Can we not talk about him?" "Sorry, but I need you to tell him something" "What?" "Tell him that if his son dies, I will bring him back, but I'm not ever doing him any favors" "Got it. Now, take these" He handed me two pearls. "Someone will eventually give Percy three, use them when you're in a pinch" "Thanks" I took the pearls. "It was nice to see you again, Triton" He smiled. "It was nice to see you again too, Water Lilly. Now chop-chop, back to the surface you go" I began to swim. "Lilly?" Triton yelled. "Yeah?" "Tell Percy that he better set this right, or I swear I will send a hoard of sharks and kelp to attack him" "Got it. See you!" I kicked up to the top. I swam to the shore, pulling the algae out of my hair. Viktor, Annabeth, Grover, and Percy were waiting at the bottom of the Arch. "What the Hades happened to you?" Annabeth yelled, wrapping her arms around me. I patted her on the back. "Don't worry. Echidna just pushed me out of the hole in the Arch. Good news, I met one of my ex-boyfriends, and he gave me some pearls if we get into a pinch, so that's great" "Who's your ex-boyfriend?" Grover asked, confused. "Triton, immortal son of Poseidon, minor god of water. He also told me to tell you, Percy" I turned to face him. "That if you don't set this straight with the Master Bolt, he's going to send a hoard of sharks and kelp to attack you. I'm not kidding about the kelp part" "That's great, but we've got to run. The police and news people are here, and they want to arrest me" I turned to Viktor. "Well, what are we waiting for then? We've got to get to Los Angles."
