"Wh-What the..."

"Is that a wolf?"

Ruby and Ember were unsettled by what they were seeing on the screen. There were noises of howling off screen as a dog-like animal was seen running through the trees in the distance. It was dark, but everyone could tell that it was bigger than a normal wolf. They flicked to another angle when another appeared on camera. This one was bigger with darker fur and gold eyes that were reflecting off of the camera. It started to growl before releasing a deep howl that was answered by more in the distance.

This was so concerning to the group because this was happening right outside of the house. It didn't help that there were several more footages that were captured on video. Some were captured recently.

"The date. That was today," Ember pointed.

There was an image of a woman hiding in the bushes. She had gold eyes, and her features matched Alara's. In fact, she looked like an older version of the youngest member of the group. She did not emerge from the bushes. A wolf emerged instead. Ember rushed to alert the alphas of what was showing on the TV. They were also shocked at what they were looking at.

"They must be the reason for the river's silence," Telka connected.

"What are we gonna do?" Ember asked.

"Go fetch the other two. They need to see this first."

The two lovers were already in front of the door when Raiden gave the command. Avery looked at the TV and confirmed that she wasn't seeing things when she saw the images.

"There really was something out there." She started to back away.

"It's more than just something. Those aren't wolves," Adam pointed at the TV.

"We know what they are," Raiden replied.

"So what are we supposed to do about it?" Avery asked.

"We do nothing. Doing anything will make things worse."

"We're just going to stay here like sitting ducks? No way."

Avery walked out of the room.

"Weak. Always weak."

Adam growled before he followed his lover back to their room.

"Maybe we should leave tomorrow," Ruby suggested.

"I'm with her," Chase agreed.

"That's not for us to decide, you know," Ember reminded.

They all looked to their alphas on what they should decide. Telka looked to Raiden with worried eyes.

"If we leave tomorrow, she cannot go with us," Raiden pointed at Alara.

"What? What do you mean?" Chase asked.

Alara stepped forward.

"Because I am the reason for this whole trip."
