Billie laid up against the headboard of her bed reading a book while Wren was on the floor coloring. She wasn't little today but she just needed something to entertain her while Billie waited for the news about Wren's first art convention.
"Baby. Could you come here please?" Billie said softly.
Whenever Billie asked wren to come here or to talk about something it always made wren feel as if she was in trouble.
Blame Avery.
"Mhm" She hummed while climbing up onto the bed.
"I can't wait to see your face when your art is being held in a place for hundreds or even thousands of people to see. They're going to love it." Billie smiled while tucking the loose strands of hair behind Wren's ear.
Wren smiled softly, laying her head on Billie's chest before letting out a soft sigh.
"I thought you were mad at me or something." Wren said while tracing little shapes on Billie's stomach.
"No baby... why would I be mad?"
"I don't know. I was just overthinking it I'm sorry." Wren was experiencing a lot of different emotions and feelings right now. It was extremely hard to process, even if she wasn't little.
"It's okay baby. Do you want a snack while we wait for the call? I know I could use a snack." Billie smiled while standing up.
Wren followed Billie down to the kitchen where Billie prepared their snack.
"Grapes or strawberries my love?" Billie asked while holding the two fruits in her hands.
"Strawberries."
"Are you picking strawberries because you want them or because you know they're my favorite?" Billie joked while taking the berries to the sink to wash them.
And after the snack they finally got the call.

"Your art will be held in City Hall, and we have a large company wanting to buy your art for a magazine cover!"

That's all wren remembers from the call as she was becoming little from being under a lot of stress and anxiety.
"Oh pumpkin. There's no need to cry. It's okay to be overwhelmed with all of these emotions, do you want to go play in the garden while I prepare dinner?" Billie kind-heartedly asked while helping the girl wipe the tears off of her face.
"Yes please." Wren sniffled, wiping the remaining tears onto the sleeves of her hoodie.
"Well go on, don't forget shoes and a jacket. It's getting chilly out."
Wren rushed to put her shoes on, running back to Billie to get some help with her jacket.
"Thank you mama." Wren smiled, hugging Billie before running out the back door.
Wren found herself in the garden, looking at the wilting flowers, but somehow she still thought they were beautiful. The pumpkins were still growing, it was all so cool to wren.
She sat down and started planting more pumpkin seeds when a car pulled into the driveway. They didn't go to the front door to talk to Billie. They came straight in the garden and started talking to wren.
"Hi sweetie. I'm Billie's friend. I have a little too, do you want to come to the park?" The lady smiled, adjusting the black mask over her face, but still exposing her eyes.
"I gotta ask mama first." Wren said, standing up and dusting herself off.
"Oh! There's no need I already spoke to her on the phone. She said it's completely okay."
