"What do you think you're doing? Billie asked while setting boxes down.
"I'm helping." Wren smiled politely, struggling to carry a large box to the garage.
"No no baby. You're supposed to be upstairs in the room getting ready for bed. I got the rest of the boxes, now go on." Billie said, placing a gentle kiss on the girls head, sending her on her way.
Wren ran up the stairs, sharply turning the corner and leaping onto the bed, tucking herself into the large quilt and grabbing a book.
She chose Billie's most recent favorite, The Great Gatsby and patiently waited until Billie had finished moving the unnecessary boxes to the garage.
"My love. Are you still awake?" Billie asked while stepping into the room.
"Yeah, I was hoping we'd spend a little time together while you read. You don't have the read out loud, I just wanna be with you." Wren said while sitting up and scooting over.
"Okay baby I'm gonna change into something comfy." Billie walked into the closet and came back out holding basketball shorts and a tshirt before walking into the bathroom to change into them.
As soon as she came out she saw wrens sleepy eyes becoming more and more heavy by the second.
"Sleepy baby. You ready for me to read to you?" Billie softly questioned while crawling into the bed and gently scooping the younger girl up.
"Yes mama." Wren yawned.
Wren positioned herself so that her head was on Billie's chest and her leg was over Billie's.
Billie's free hand reached down to pull the blanket over Wren and she rubbed her back while reading out loud.
Soon enough wren had fallen asleep, just like Billie knew was gonna happen.
Billie continued reading, until she was tired.
But in the morning wren was gone.
She heard some commotion downstairs which kinda scared her. She got out of bed and walked downstairs to see wren making breakfast.
"Honey what are you doing?" Billie giggled watching the girl flip pancakes onto plates.
"I made breakfast." Wren turned around to Billie and kissed her lips.
"Don't you know that it's our anniversary today?" Wrens eyes were wide, hoping Billie didn't forget that today marks 2 years of their relationship.
"I didn't forget baby. I promise. I have something planned for us later. It's little friendly too." Billie smiled, grabbing the plate from Wrens hand and kissing her cheek.
Wren cracked a small smile and followed Billie to the table.
As they were eating Billie noticed a bit of whipped cream above Wren's lip, instinctively causing her to lean over the table and wipe the girls mouth with her thumb, making Wren smile.
"Sorry... instincts." Billie giggled.
