A week slipped away, and Taehyung found himself unable to meet the ravenette. Despite his attempts to reach out, their paths seemed to diverge, leaving him with a lingering sense of disappointment and longing.
He spent his days caught between hope and frustration, his thoughts often drifting back to their last encounter.
As the days passed, Taehyung couldn't shake off the uneasy feeling whenever Hyojoo mentioned Jungkook. He found himself growing increasingly sensitive to any mention of Jungkook's name, a knot tightening in his stomach each time.
"Noona, I tired everything but he's always off!"
"you are not trying enough! I only let you come back to the shop because I need your help during morning shifts and because I am your only friend but that doesn't mean I am ok whith what you did to Mr. Jeon and THEREFORE Mr. Kim you need to apologise to him!" Hyojoo said, her voice firm as she crossed her arms.
"I go there everyday, yet the receptionist tell me the same thing, he is not available!" responded Teahyung mimicking the stern tone of the receptionist.
"Have you tried to look him up ? maybe he's on one the social media's platform? I don't know ? just do something ok!"
"Noona, Why are you insisting that I apologize? I am not hunting the guy on social media I don't even know his name."
"Try this user id JaJkon97"
"What ? how do you have this ..Noona, how.."
"Oh where not all social ghosts like you, you know.." hyojoo waved her hand in a playful, exaggerated manner.
"I am on Instagram tho, you know social media gives me anxiaty but anyways, I am not stalking the guy .."
"Come on, Taehyung," Hyojoo said, chuckling, "You're overthinking things! There's really nothing to worry about. he doesn't even remember you so why would you care! just drop an I am sorry message and that's it"
Taehyung couldn't shake off the feeling that something was amiss. He regarded Hyojoo with a puzzled expression, his eyes narrowing slightly as he observed her. There was a lingering suspicion in his gaze, a sense that she might be hiding something or planning a move he wasn't aware of.
His curiosity and doubt mingled, creating a complex expression on his face. Despite Hyojoo's reassurances, a nagging feeling of uncertainty lingered but he decided to push it aside and opened his instagram app.
Taehyung slammed his phone onto the counter in a fit of frustration, the action more aggressive than he intended. He let out an exasperated huff, his brows furrowing in confusion and annoyance.
"There's probably more to this than just friendship," he muttered under his breath, his mind racing with thoughts and emotions he couldn't fully grasp.
Mrs. Jeon's face contorted with rage as she read the rumors about her son on the tablet. Unable to contain her anger, she slammed the device onto the couch, the screen flickering in protest. She began to pace back and forth, her high heels striking the floor with a resounding force. Each step seemed to echo her frustration, and she hit the floor hard with her heels, the noise reverberating through the mansion.
"Joong ki ! Get Jungkook NOW" Mrs. Jeon let out a scream of frustration.
Flashback
In the dim, pulsating lights of the club, Jungkook found himself in a state of euphoria, fueled by the combination of music, laughter, and too many drinks. The atmosphere was charged with energy, and Jungkook, now a bit unsteady on his feet, was lost in the rhythm of the music and the haze of alcohol.
Amidst the lively crowd, he spotted his friend Jimin. But in his intoxicated state, Jimin's features seemed to blend and blur, creating a confusing in Jungkook's mind. As he approached the blond, he excitedly threw an arm around him.
"Tae, you're smiling !" Jungkook slurred, his words a mix of admiration and intoxication. Jimin, used to Jungkook's antics, and oblivious to the name Jungkook called him, simply laughed, deciding to play along. "Yeah, yeah, I am. But hey, I think you've had enough," Jimin said, trying to steer his friend away from the bar.
The confusion persisted, and Jungkook, still convinced he was talking to Taehyung, grinned widely, unaware of his mistake. He cups Jimin's face, leaned in and crushed his lips on Jimin's.
Jimin, also under the influence of alcohol, felt a surge of warmth as he realized Jungkook was kissing him. In that hazy, intoxicated moment, he closed his eyes and surrendered to the sensation, allowing himself to be swept away by the emotions he had kept for so long. The world around them faded into the background as he finally embraced the moment he had been waiting for, his heart racing with a mix of excitement and contentment.
For Jimin, it felt like a dream come true, a culmination of unspoken desires and hidden feelings. In the midst of the drunken haze, he let himself enjoy the kiss, cherishing the connection he had longed for, even if it was born out of the blurred lines of intoxication. In that moment, he felt a sense of fulfillment, a fleeting but intense happiness that washed over him as he allowed himself to be enveloped in the intoxicating sweetness of Jungkook's lips.
