As Jungkook tried to mend his relationship with Taehyung, he couldn't shake off the weight of his responsibilities and the secrets that burdened him. Despite the progress they were making, the memories of his mother's request lingered in the back of his mind, a constant reminder of the expectations placed upon him.

The CEO position, a role he had longed for, now seemed both a distant dream and a looming burden. Jungkook questioned whether he was truly ready to take on such a responsibility, especially considering the complexities of his personal life. The pressure to succeed and live up to his mother's expectations weighed heavily on him, creating a constant sense of unease and self-doubt.

Additionally, the secrets his mother was hiding cast a shadow over their relationship. Jungkook knew there were aspects of his family's past that were kept hidden, and he couldn't ignore the nagging feeling that these secrets were intricately linked to the tensions between their families.

Jungkook, feeling the weight of his responsibilities, moved purposefully into his office. With a determined expression, he picked up the phone and called for his assistant.

"Get Joong Ki," Jungkook's voice resonated with authority, his tone firm and focused.

In response, Joong Ki promptly entered Jungkook's office, his demeanor respectful yet attentive. He greeted Jungkook with a nod, waiting for instructions.

Jungkook,  looked at Joong Ki with determination in his eyes.

"I have a plan," he began, his voice steady.

"But I'll need your help to execute it effectively"

Joong Ki listened carefully, his sharp mind already processing the information. He understood the gravity of the situation and the importance of the plan Jungkook was about to unveil.

"I'm all ears," Joong Ki replied, ready to assist Jungkook in any way he could.

Mrs. Jeon paced back and forth in her study, her face etched with anger, as she spoke on the phone with Mr. Choi.

The revelation about Jungkook being romantically involved with Taehyung had shaken her to the core, leaving her in a state of disbelief and confusion.

"I can't believe my son would do that" Mrs. Jeon said, her voice filled with a mixture of frustration and anger.

"What do you suggest we do about this situation?" Mr. Choi's voice on the other end of the line was steady

"Choi!" cried Mrs. Jeon " I thank you for the info you are providing while I suppose to get it from my trustee but this is a family matter"

"Wasn't a family matter when you asked me to get rid of Hwang?"

Mrs. Jeon felt a surge of anger and regret wash over her as Mr. Choi's words hung heavy in the air. His statement struck a nerve, reminding her of the dark secrets and questionable decisions that had led them to this point.

"I should have never asked you in the first place. It was a mistake, and I regret ever asking for your help." she replied, her voice laced with frustration and remorse.

The weight of her own actions bore down on her, suffocating her in a mix of fear and shame. She realized that her past choices had consequences, not only for herself but for everyone around her. The web of deceit and manipulation had entangled them all, and now, faced with the repercussions, she felt a deep sense of remorse for her actions.

"We all make mistakes, Ye Jin," he said, his tone unyielding. "I did it for the old good days. Remember!" the air hung heavy with tension as Mr. Choi's stern voice cut through the silence.

Mrs. Jeon shifted uncomfortably in her seat. The memories of those old days were a painful reminder of the choices she had made, choices that had led to betrayal and deceit.

She recalled how she had cheated on her husband, Jungkook's father, with Mr. Choi to extend her business, blurring the lines between ambition and morality.

The room seemed to close in on her as she remembered the tangled web of lies and manipulation that had woven their fates together.

Mr. Choi's presence had always been a reminder of her past indiscretions, a constant thorn in her side. The reason they had become rivals was a bitter pill to swallow—Mr. Choi's relentless reminder that her success was indebted to him, a notion she vehemently resented. She had worked hard for the company, and his insinuations only fueled her determination to prove herself.

Mrs. Jeon clenched her fists, her voice barely a whisper as she responded,

"I hate you choi".

Mr. Choi's lips curled into a bitter smile, acknowledging the truth in her words.

"Well, you know how to play your cards well," he admitted,

"But remember, our fates are intertwined, for better or worse."

As the weight of their shared secrets hung heavily in the air, Mrs. Jeon nodded reluctantly. The past had bound them together in ways they couldn't escape, and now, faced with the consequences of their actions, they found themselves entangled in a dangerous game of power, ambition, and betrayal.

Mrs. Jeon knew that she had to face the truth, confront her son, and unravel the lies that had plagued them all. It was a daunting task, but she was willing to do whatever it took to keep the position, the power and the company.

Taehyung's fingers hovered over the keyboard, his eyes scanning the job listings on his laptop screen. The room was quiet, the only sound the occasional click of the mouse as he navigated through different job websites.

Just as he was about to click on another job posting, his phone buzzed beside him. GAGA's name flashed on the screen, and he answered the call with a curious tone.

"Hello?"

"Taehyung, can you come to Namgu? the police found something important" Sung Ryung's voice was urgent, a mix of excitement and happiness.

Taehyung's brows furrowed in curiosity.

"What did they find? I'll come right away."

He didn't need much convincing. Anything that could potentially change his situation was worth investigating. With a sense of anticipation, he closed his laptop and quickly grabbed his keys, his mind racing with possibilities. Whatever Sung Ryung and the police have discovered, it had the potential to alter the course of his life, and he was more than willing to explore this new lead.
