In the dim glow of the softly lit shop, Jungkook stood, his gaze fixed on Taehyung. The air was heavy with unspoken words, tension crackling between them like electricity. The shop was silent except for the faint sound of their breathing, both waiting for the other to break the silence.
Taehyung, met Jungkook's gaze, his expression a mix of regret and longing. He was wrestling with his own emotions, trying to find the right words to say.
"I am sorry I called you Jerk and Idiot and kicked you out of the shop Mr. Jeon" Taehyung broke the silence
"Humm.. It's Jungkook by the way" Time seemed to stretch, each moment feeling like an eternity as Jungkook stood there. His heart ached.
"I am Taehyung, Kim Taehyung Nice to meet you Jungkook!" Teahyung's voice catching in his throat.
"Sorry I called you a "Thing" " Finally spoke Jungkook
"and..?" Teahyung crossed his arms waiting for Jungkook to proceed
"and Princess!"
the faint hum of the music system echoing in the background and finally, Taehyung smiled.
It was like a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds, and as it graced his lips, Jungkook's heart skipped a beat. it was a smile that said everything he needed to hear without a single word.
Jungkook couldn't help but return the smile, his own lips curling upward as the weight of their recent conflict melted away.
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air as Jungkook nervously fiddles with his coffee cup, he and Taehyung sit across from each other at a corner table. The conversation flows seamlessly, and soon, they're discussing their favorite movies, books, and even their most embarrassing childhood stories. Laughter fills the air as they recount silly anecdotes, finding comfort in each other's presence.
"Oh, you have to tell me your most embarrassing moment now. It's a rule!"
"Alright, well, when I was in high school, I asked the teacher to go the washroom, as I met Jimin, times went by, I forgot I had a class to go back too and ended up home with Jimin, I even forgot my bag back" Jungkook blushes, laughing at himself.
"Hmm.. Jimin as in your boyfriend Jimin?" Teahyung asked with forcing a smile
"What! No! he is just a friend, more like a brother you know!" Jungkook adjusted his position in his chair anticipating an answer from Taehyung.
Taehyung jut nodded his head, their eyes met, and in that shared gaze, Jungkook found an unspoken understanding.
Time slips away, but neither of them minds. And in that simple act of talking about everything and anything, their friendship seems to solidifies, promising countless more conversations in the future.
Taehyung shifted in his seat as he glanced at his phone, 3:10 AM, Jungkook noticing the act, cleared his throat and said:
"Hey, Taehyung, I've really enjoyed hanging out with you tonight!"
whith a soft smile, Taehyung tilted his head, meeting Jungkook's dark orbes. Jungkook took a deep breath, gathering his courage
"Hey, um, would you mind if I drive you home? It's getting late, and I want to make sure you get there safely."
Jungkook's thoughts swirled with uncertainty, torn between his desire for being with the blond and the fear of making him uncomfortable. He questioned himself, wondering if he had pushed the boundaries too much, afraid of being perceived as a creep.
"Did I go too far with my request?" Jungkook pondered, his brow furrowing in concern. "I just wanted to get to know him better. What if he thinks I'm too forward?"
"You are really forward you know!" Taehyung, noticing Jungkook's inner struggle, chuckled softly, sensing the hesitation in his newfound friend.
"I'd like that, Jungkook. Thank you" Taehyung's eyes soften, appreciating Jungkook's concern.
Jungkook's eyes light up, In that moment, the shared understanding between them deepened, and Jungkook felt a newfound sense of comfort.
After their heartfelt conversation, Jungkook and Taehyung worked together to clean and close the cafe. As they finished, they walked side by side to the parking lot, the night sky above them dotted with stars.
Jungkook, feeling a sense of responsibility, turned to Taehyung with a friendly smile.
"Hey, do you mind if I save your address on the GPS? "
Taehyung nodded and shared his address. As Jungkook drove, his happiness was palpable, his tattooed hand resting confidently on the steering wheel. Taehyung couldn't help but steal glances at Jungkook, admiring his easy confidence and the subtle grace with which he handled the car.
In the glow of the streetlights, they arrived in front of Taehyung's apartment building. With a soft smile, Taehyung turned to Jungkook.
"Thanks for the ride, Jungkook. I really appreciate it."
"It was my pleasure, Taehyung. See you soon, okay?" Jungkook, still buzzing with happiness from their evening together.
Taehyung nodded, his own smile mirroring Jungkook's.
"Definitely. Goodnight, Jungkook."
