When Khan finally arrived at his destination, he found a disheartening sight. There were less than a hundred Workers, including the group of fifteen he had picked up along the way.

"Khan!" A teal-eyed drone with a blue hardhat and a denim jacket called out as he ran up. "Thank Turing you're here! Now we can all stop panicking and come up with a plan!"

"Terry, is this all that made it?" Khan asked, gesturing to the practically barren warehouse.

"So far," Terry answered with a confidence he clearly didn't feel.

"Do be fair," a black-haired female drone said as she walked up to them with a green-eyed male in tow, "this is about what it looks like when we do evacuation drills. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the others don't remember how to get here."

"We can only hope they're smart enough to find good hiding places," her husband remarked with a posh accent.

"Mr. Doorman!" Khan looked over to see Thad jogging his way over. He was a good kid. Popular, loyal, good-looking; he'd be great as the face of the WDF one day.

It also didn't hurt that he had won the RNG lottery with his coding, having his physical limiters set to a significantly higher range than most from "birth".

"Thad, good to see you!"

"You, too, sir!" Thad replied with a salute. "So, what's the plan?"

"Well, what do we know?" Khan asked, looking around at the semi-circle of WDF drones that had formed in front of him.

"Next to nothing," one drone scoffed.

"Yeah, only one person actually saw anything and lived to tell about it," another drone said as he pointed at the blue-haired cheerleader being comforted by her friends. "Said the MD is using the vents to get around and that it told her to run away."

"It wants chaos," the tallest drone amongst them said in a gruff Australian accent. "Have us all running around like idiots and pick us off one by one to keep up the panic."

"All the more reason to get that door sealed and get the hell out of here," the female drone from before said.

"Connie, what about the others?" her husband pleaded.

"The more time we give them to get here, the more time we give the Murder Drone to do the same."

"She's got a point, Tobias," Terry admitted.

"So, what, we just leave nearly seven-HUNDRED people to be sliced, diced and eaten alive?!" Tobias all but yelled.

"Keep your voice down!" Connie hissed, noticing several other drones had turned to look at them.

"Let them hear. Personally I think they deserve to know whether or not anyone's going to try and help their friends and family!" Tobias fired back, glaring down at his wife.

"I mean," Thad started, nearly clamming up when everyone stared at him like they forgot he was there, "it's just one of them, right? All of us together should be able to do something about it."

"There's never just one, son," the tall drone, Erik, grunted. "Even if it got in here by itself, there's no way it hasn't told its mates."

"So we just let them run us out of our home?"

"You say that like there are other options," Connie huffed.

"How about fighting back? Y'know, defend ourselves?"

"With what?" Terry asked. "All we got are stun batons. Even IF they work against MDs, we'd be in pieces before we ever got close enough to use 'em."

After taking a moment to think, Thad snapped his fingers and turned to Khan.
