The morning air hits my face as I shake myself awake, having started my flight back to Capsule Corp to go retrieve Trunks so I could brief him on my plan for us to get stronger. I had left the Son family home on good terms with Chichi and the Ox King despite the touchy nature of their worry for Gohan, but it had smoothed out after that talk. On my back, a bag held a packed lunch by the worried mother with tiding for her blue-haired friend as well as the items I retrieved being Goku's Bo staff and Gohan's childhood sword. My overall goal was to make use of these weapons in both me and Trunk's fighting styles in order to give us an upper hand against the androids. Even if I didn't utilize the bo staff, Trunks would most certainly need the sword since his fighting style revolved around a blade and it wouldn't hurt to have him get a head start on some sword training. Hopefully I can locate Yajirobe around this time in order to act as Trunk's teacher considering he's really the only person I can entrust him to without worrying about him not learning anything. Despite Yajirobe's lack of relevance in the series, he did show himself to be quite the capable swordsman going against kid Goku and even being integral to the fight with Great Ape Vegeta by cutting off his tail. As for myself, I need to learn how to properly utilize ki and tap into this body's muscle memory for fighting. This is why I'm going to go under the tutelage of the perverted Turtle Hermit himself considering he was the main and first teacher of Goku, so he could definitely train me.

My eyes glazed over the ruined metropolis that was Satan City. From what I'd seen in the anime compared to now, the once bustling city where Gohan used to go to school in the main timeline was nothing more than a bunch of crumbled buildings and blasted out ruins. I personally didn't expect to see any signs of life, but the sounds of a commotion from below rung in my sensitive ears as I directed the Nimbus to fly down lower so I could see what was going on. Squinting my eyes, I could make out what seemed to be three people yelling at one another on a decrepit street corner. One seemed to be a hooded person whose gender I couldn't identify and the other two seemed to be armed men. "Stop making this harder than it has to be lady, either give us the goods or we'll shoot." Shouted one of the men, a bigger gentleman with a beard and pointing a revolver at the hooded figure. "Just drop the stuff you're carrying, and we can both be on our way." He points his gun out further to reinforce his point.

"Like hell I would! You selfish bastards need to get out of my way before I make you regret it!" The hooded woman exclaims in a somewhat familiar ferocity I thought I had heard before.

"That's it, we gave you a chance to leave, but we have mouths to feed!" The shorter, second man shouts as he brandishes a pistol of his own.

Before I had even processed a thought, my body moved on its own as it jumped off the Nimbus cloud with a determined leap, leaving me screaming as I realized the predicament I was getting myself into. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" The words left my mouth as I plummeted at a great speed, the ground coming right at me. I braced myself by bending my knees and covering my face, bracing for a painful impact, but surprisingly, I managed to land at a slower pace as if I used some small fraction of ki to soften the fall. Though, that didn't stop me from falling straight onto my face as my body made its acquaintance to the pavement below with a starling CRASH, catching the trio off guard. As the three of them stand bewildered staring at the strange black haired guy splat on the ground, the girl realizes this is her chance and quickly places down her baggage and makes a run at one of the men. As I pick myself up I hear a questioning "The hell...?" From the big guy until he's assaulted from behind as the woman promptly kicks him in the balls to the point where I flinch. The pity was temporary as the shorter guy pointed his weapon at me and fired, the bullet wizzing bast me as my Saiyan instincts kick in and I dodge it effortlessly to my surprise. "Argh!" The woman is surprisingly holding her own even with the size differences between her and the man as she holds him in a chokehold as I turn my attention back to the other guy fires his gun off again. I begin to dodge them as if I was in Matrix, the bullets slowing down based on my perception as I less than gracefully closed the distance between the gunman and delivered him a powerful punch in the gut. He's sent back into a pile of rubble, a bit more oomph than I wanted but, it got the job done.

When I turned around to help the woman, it turned out she was more than fine as she stood over the man's unconscious form with her stretching her arms out. It seems my expression of surprise was quite noticeable as she walked over to me after picking up the bags she was carrying, which now that I got a good look at, had a variety of canned goods and nonperishables. "I don't know where the hell you came from, but I'm glad you were there to distract those two, so I didn't have to get my hands too dirty." She said with a relieved chuckle as she let down her hood, revealing a familiar yet older Videl Satan. Her hand extends out to me in a friendly manner. "The name's —." Her words are cut off as I mumble.

"Videl...?" The hand quickly recoils as she looks at me with both a confused and defensive look.

"How do you know my name...?" Videl asks cautiously as I put my hands up in caution.

"I just...umm... Who wouldn't know mister Satan's daughter?" I say in a in a quick excusatory manner to explain my fuck up. "I mean...he was the world champ...so it's not like a fan wouldn't recognize his own child." I continue as the nonexistent beads of sweat trail down my neck in nervousness.

"Hmmm..." She hums in curiosity as he eyes look at me with suspicion, before she sighs and lets her guard down again.  "Sorry... I'm just paranoid considering its been a while since I've been recognized like that and all. Besides you seem like a decent enough guy, given that you could've attacked me yourself with those floundering attacks of yours."

"Were they that bad...?" I question myself in a mumble which she apparently heard.

"Yes, they were. Though it seems you're quite physically fit which explains why you decked that one guy so far, even while missing an arm." She says as her eyes look at the knocked-out guy sitting on a pile of rubble. "Anyways..." Her eyes gaze back at me. "As you already know my name's Videl. Daughter of mister Satan and such, yata yata." She says dismissively as her hand gestures her rushing. "So, what's your deal mister martial artist? You got a gi on like a professional but, you certainly don't handle yourself like one despite the muscles."

My one good hand scratches the back of my head sheepishly as I look away. "I...I just lost my memory so I can't remember how to properly fight?" I say the excuse as if framed as a question to myself as to how someone with half a mind would believe such an obvious lie.

The quizzical look made a return as she tilted her head. "You...forgot?" She asks full of disbelief."

"Yes." I say with half-confidence.

Videl sighs once more as she turns away from me and walks away from the street corner, deeper into the city before turning back. "Well...? Aren't you coming."

"Huh? You want me to come with you?" I ask confusedly considering how suspicious of an answer I gave to her question.

"Yes, you idiot. Now are you coming or not?" She asks demandingly as she points to the direction, she's going to head towards.

"Uh... sure." I say unconfidently as I jog up beside her and we both start walking towards somewhere deeper in the city. Several minutes pass by as we walk in silence. The city's atmosphere didn't exactly make it hospitable for conversation aside from the occasional glance between the two of us as we trudged onwards.

"So... What's your name?"

"Hm?" I turn to her in a daze having been snapped out of my trance of just analyzing the surrounding cityscape.

"I asked what your name was. Considering you didn't tell me before." She stated the fact as if talking to a child.

"Oh, it's Gohan. Son Gohan."

Videl extends her hand much like before as I look at it. "Well, it's good to meet you, Gohan. Hopefully I can repay you once we get back to the bunker where I live considering you did technically save me from those bandits, even though I could've easily handled it myself."

"Bandits? Why would people be try to rob others in a time like this?"

"Why did bank robbers steal money from banks? Why do people take shit all the time? Because they're too lazy to actual put effort into their own survival and thrive by depriving others of their well-deserved things." She says in a passive aggressive tone as I realized I ask a bit of a stupid question.

I still shook her hand despite the passive-aggressiveness but, we continued on passing the wide building of Satan Tower, the biggest building in Satan City and where Videl and mister Satan presumably lived. Guess Ill have to see where this little detour takes me.
