Part 21: Mnemophobia part 2.

Pocus' horrifying shout of fear echos throughout the deep sea of Dagat. Raphael barely moves in time to break two fingers as a barrier surrounds the two of them. Suddenly, multiple Melnais Valis and Oniksa Valis appear as soon as the barrier finishes. They all ram into the barrier as multiple cracks appear on the barrier. They moved so fast Raphael hardly had the time to react, only acting in the nick of time. Raphael lifts Pocu off her back and holds her head to her chest, hugging her close. "Calm down. Relax. None of it is real." She says to her, slightly panicking. Pocu doesn't seem to react. Her eyes are still wide open and shaking in fear as tears begin to pour down her eyes. Reality shifts in Pocus' eyes as she sees the corpses and burning village once more, then it flickers to Raphael. She screams once again as she sees a man cloaked in steel armor stand over her and Raphael has no choice but to knock her out to keep her quiet. The Valis outside the barrier are all simultaneously whipping it using their tentacles, which moving at blistering speeds. The Melnais Valis's long tentacles strike the barrier with each crack of their movement, scratching the barrier as they keep their long arms at their sides. The Oniksa Valis many branching tentacles constantly striking at the barrier, each one as though a tree struck a barrier. Raphael holds Pocus' unconscious body close as she looks at her hands, seeing three broken fingers on her left and on her right, a single broken finger. She takes a deep breath and looks around, seeing the several Valis all around her attacking the barrier. Suddenly the barrier shatters into pieces as a large dragon made of a black liquid is shot out from underneath Raphael from a Melnais Valis. Raphael is quickly pulls her still sheathed sword out to block the dragon but is rampaged by the other Valis surrounding her. Each slash and thrash of their Valis badly injuring her, causing her to drop her sword. Her arms almost crushed from the Oniksa's strikes along with her chest, which, after a single strike, becomes caved in. The Melnais Valis's swift slashes from their tentacles riddling Raphael's body with large gaping wounds.  Pocu, however, remains unharmed. Raphael, while being attack breaks yet another finger time on her right hand. She becomes invisible and tries to swim away, but it doesn't work. They still seem to see her one of them even hitting her leg in a swift attack. The swift strike from the Oniksa Valis leaves her bones shattered into pieces. Raphael manages to not scream in pain, barely able to keep it in. She is takes a quick breath and breaks the rest of the fingers on her right hand by forcibly bending them backwards. Mana flows from Raphael's body so intensely it's visible a shadow like aura surrounding her. The Oniksa Valis all at once swing their tentacles at her with the Melnais Valis backing off, leaving only one to raise one of their long arms high above them, creating a ball of condense mana. Raphael shouts. "Rapture!" She claps her hands together despite the pain. An enormous dome surrounds Raphael and the Valis, clouds begin to gather up at the top of the dome. As the tentacles are about to reach Raphael, a pillar of light comes down from the cloud, paralyzing them. However, the Melnais Valis was able to dodge the beam of light then fired off the spell which lands in the center quickly expanding into a violent cyclone with hailstorm small blades of mana spinning through it. However, the light coming from the clouds expands and divides, targeting and stopping every single individual blade. Soon three more beams of light target the Melnais Valis and stop it. Raphael still can't even breathe as she breaks yet another finger, leaving only one left. "Divine Retribution!" She shouts, then clapping her hands once more in pain than coughing out blood into her hands. Lighting comes from the clouds striking down on each of the Valis hundreds if not thousands of times. This entire battle had only lasted a minute. Blood leaks from her head and eyes as she slowly begins to swim down in terrible pain. She finds her blade and struggles to put it back, having to only use a single good finger with the rest broken. then, after finding it, struggles to unsheathe with her lone finger. The blade is eventually unsheathed and reveals a blade with the edge inward instead of outward. She places her hand on the edge and it heals her wounds. She does same the same for the rest of her body. As she swims, she checks on Pocu, who is unconscious and close to her chest, seeing she's still perfectly ok. Raphael breathes a sigh of relief. Raphael lets go of Pocu, letting her float in front of her as she takes a deep breath. Raphael grabs her, putting her on her back as she continues to move deeper into the seas of Dagat. After a while of swimming in relative peace, only having to hide from some Melnais Valis and Oniksa Valis, she makes it to the gate. It's enormous to say the least easily dwarfing Raphael. As she swims close to it, the gate seems to turn on. A portal is slowly created, and a bubble surrounds it, removing all the water within. Raphael enters the bubble and slowly walks to the gate. As she stands in front of it, she takes a deep breath. Her hand briefly shakes, but she grabs it to stop it. "It's just a place... nothing more, nothing less." She says to herself as she slowly walks into the gate.
