Put as much effort into people as you want them to do for you. Be the best person to people and make sure you always make their lives better so that they can look back and say they having you made their life better.
But
Do that without expecting them to ever treat you like that. Do things for people without expecting them to ever repay you. Knowing you made someone's life better is the best reward. Knowing you made an impact is the greatest joy. When we do good things for people we should expect God to reward us.
God sees, God remembers and God repays.
