I was playing Minecraft for a while when I got the call. I checked my phone and saw it was an unknown number. Normally, I wouldn't answer these kinds of calls, but more often than not, I know who's on the other end...

I paused the game and hit "answer". I then took a deep breath before saying "Hello?" That's when I heard the familiar voice reply, "Hey, Mike!"

I smiled as I leaned back in my chair.

"It's been a while, eh?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry about that; I haven't been able to channel my energy as well as I used to..."

"Oh?"

"Yeah...but I'm here now; that's what matters!"

"I suppose so!"

I had the dumbest smile on my face, I just knew it.

"So how's the job going?"

"Not bad; I'm making minimum wage, but it's more than I ever made at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza!"

"I'm sure!"

"Yeah...and at least there aren't any animatronics; it's safe to say I'm going to have fears about those for a while!"

"No kidding. I still can't believe everything that happened in that restaurant! So, the characters were possessed by murdered children seeking revenge?"

"Pretty much! It's downright insane, when you think about it."

"I'll say! Of course, my Freddy Fazbear's Pizza wasn't any better, as you know..."

"Yeah...I still just wish I could've saved you..."

"You know it was too late by the time you got there."

"I know, but still."

"At least you found me; who knows how long Kenzie would've been at it if you never found that meat locker."

"Fair enough. Hell, I probably would've been a Children Pleaser myself if those kids hadn't helped me!"

"Oh, no doubt!"

We then just chuckled a bit before changing the subject to some current events going on (Apparently, she didn't know who Bruce Jenner was, so it was fun explaining why he goes by Caitlyn now).

Finally, she told me she had to go; her energy was going low.

"Okay," I told her. "Will...you call back soon?"

"If I can get enough energy, then yes!"

"Good; I like talking to you."

"I like talking to you, too; it reminds me that I still have people who care about me."

"I'm sure there are people besides me."

"Maybe...I gotta go now, Mike."

"Alright...bye, Jamie."

"Bye, Mike!"

Like that, she hung up. I sighed and put my phone away. I'm glad she was still talking to me, but it really is less and less in the recent weeks...I hope she's ok...

Oh, well; better get back to building!
