Jeongin had woken up about ten minutes ago now. He was still in his baggy sleeping wear as he made his way to the kitchen. When he had woken up, hyunjin wasn't in his room anymore so he assumed he must have gotten up to get breakfast.
Slowly drudging down the stairs, rubbing his eyes. Jeongin looked down into the kitchen area. Apparently he was correct cause Hyunjin was already there, mixing some batter in a yellow bowl. Ji-U and Mun where both standing next to him, on there tippy toes as they tried to watch the process of making pancakes. Mun turned her head up to the stair case, noticing her brother.
"Hi, Oppa, we're making pancakes." She said.
"I see that." Jeongin smiled. "You didn't bother jinnie to make them, did you?" He asked, once again concerned the girls might have been a bother.
Mun shook her head before hyunjin answered for her.
"No, of course not. They came downstairs as I was making my coffee, so decided to make some pancakes." Hyunjin explained. "And even if they did, what's wrong with that, I'm happy to make them something to eat any time." He said as he rustled his fingers through Mun's hair.
"I mean it's not like I'll have to make much since..........Felix isn't home." He said muttering the last bit.Jeongin exhaled through his nose, he knew something was wrong..
"Uh, did you try calling him again?"
"Yeah...he answered." Hyunjin said, avoiding the others eyes, looking down towards the girls instead.
"Oh, what did he say..?" Jeongin asked.
"Nothing much.... just that he won't be home till later today. He's still out with..........friends.." he said, as he turned back towards his bowl of over stirred batter.
Jeongin tilted his head, standing right next to Hyunjin now.
"Do you think he's with someone other than friends?" He asked, his voice clearly concerned."I don't know, he didn't sound like he was with a friend." Hyunjin said in a monatone voice, as he poured the contents of the bowl into the pan.
"What...... did he sound like?" Jeongin asked, as he half heartedly attempted to cover the girl's ear.
"Uh i-i don't know, I only heard one voice..."
"Oh shit. You're not actually thinking.... he's y'know?"
Hyunjin took a deep breath. His chest shaking as the image ran through his mind. "I'm not sure, I think um...I think I know the person's voice."
Jeongins brows were now arrowed down in a face of sympathy. He looked to the girls then back to hyunjin.
"Girls, can you go in the living room for a moment" he asked.
Mun tilted her head curiously. "Why?"
"Yeah, I wanna make pancakes." Ji-U whined.
"Because I said so." Jeongin said as he nudged them towards the out of the kitchen and into the living room.
"Don't worry your pancakes will be done soon." He said hurriedly. "Now turn on the TV or something." He suggested before looking back to hyunjin with much more urgency then before."That's awful jinnie, are you sure you recognize the voice?" Jeongin asked. The blonde nodded slowly. His eyes looked sorrowful and still, like glass for an old coke bottle, thick and pained. Jeongin put his hand on the olders shoulder. Hyunjin sighed the smallest breath before he spoke.
"It was his ex. Chan, I'd recognize his voice from anywhere.." hyunjin said, his voice shaking, his posture wilting as he thought about the disturbing, stomach crushing image in his brain.
He needed to distract himself, that's what he was doing. Why did jeongin have to ask. Isn't obvious?
Jeongins jaw was open now, his eyes darted around the room as he thought about what to say, what to do. Hyunjin just turned back to the stove, flipping two of the pancakes, all of his attention focused on completing the action, as his hand begin to shake violently.
"What are you going to do?" The younger asked.
"I don't have a fucking clue." The blonde said as he placed a golden yellow pancake onto a small plate. "To be honest I might as well just say nothing, I mean fuck it." He said, his voice only starting to become hysterical. "I mean who knows how long this has been happening, maybe he was never even with me, maybe he's always been fucking him." He said, his eyes started to water, soon making the purple circles decorating his eyes wet and shiny. Jeongin patted his shoulder hastily.
"No, don't say that jinnie, m-maybe this is just a misunderstanding-"
"It's not. It's not a fucking misunderstanding. And y'know what? It doesn't matter." Hyunjin said as his eyes began to overflow, his voice turning into a silent sob as he choked on his words. "B-because I still love him, I still love him, I still need him. I-i might as well just not say anything."
"It's ok, it's ok Jinnie." Jeongin said, quickly wrapping his arms around Hyunjin's shoulders as he began to cry into the palms of his hands. "You'll just have to talk to him when he gets back-
"To say what?" The blonde asked as he lifted his chin from his hands. "What do I say? 'i know you've been sleeping behind my back and yet I'm too pathetically in love with you to break up'? Is that what I should say?" He asked bitterly.
"Well obviously not." Jeongin whined at the others sarcastic question. "But y-you can work this out, I know Felix loves you hyunjin and like I said, this might just be a misunderstanding somehow."
Hyunjin rolled his eyes. "Yeah sure.." he said before wiping his eyes and turning back to the counter. He scooped the last pancake out of the pan and added it to the pile.
"Girls, breakfast is ready." He shouted.Jeongin tried his best to relax his worried expression as the girls ran in and grabbed their plates.
"Thanks jinnie Oppa." Mun said happily before making her way back to the couch.
"Thank you Oppa." Ji-U with a big smile before following her sister.Jeongin looked back to hyunjin as soon as both girls were out of the kitchen again.
"Did he say when he was coming home?" He asked.
"Yeah, he said an hour or so. It's already been over half an hour.."
"Are you going to be ok?" Jeongin asked quietly.
"Probably not." Hyunjin said, laughing bitterly.
