Salma

After the long hug with Mamai, I rushed to Papa's bedside and wrapped my arms around him. "Papa, I'm so sorry! I feel terrible for worrying you and contributing to your condition. Please forgive me, Papa. I never meant for any of this to happen," I sobbed, my body shaking uncontrollably.

Papa's expression softened as he gazed at me. He gently patted my head. "Don't blame yourself, Salma. I'm just relieved to see you're safe. My health is being stabilized," he reassured me, wiping away my tears. "I'm just happy you're safe, vajza ime."(my daughter)

Mama stepped forward, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Where did you go, Salma? Why did you leave without telling us?" she asked, her voice laced with concern. I took a deep breath and recounted the entire story, feeling tears prick at the corners of my eyes.

Mama's grip on my hand tightened as she spoke. "Salma, if only you had told us about your plans, we could have avoided all this worry. But let's forget about that now. We need to focus on your Papa's recovery." She took a deep breath before continuing. "The doctor says we need to arrange for the operation as soon as possible, while Papa's heart is still stable."

Mama's eyes filled with tears as she struggled to find a solution. "But we don't have the money, and borrowing isn't an option because of our debts. I'm at a loss for what to do." Papa offered a reassuring squeeze on her hand, and she smiled faintly, stroking his cheek.

I felt a wave of despair wash over me. Mama was overwhelmed, and Omar was taking on too much. Our situation seemed hopeless, and all I could do was cling to the hope that something would work out. I sent a silent prayer, begging for a miracle to save Papa.

Third person's pov

Omar had been working non-stop since Salma left, his mind preoccupied with multiple concerns. Exhausted, he sat down under a tree to rest before continuing. Despite his efforts, he knew he couldn't earn enough for the operation. Working two shifts seemed futile, but he refused to give up hope. Omar rested his head against the tree, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Only a miracle could resolve this crisis, he thought. Yet, he couldn't simply wait for a miracle; he had to keep trying. With renewed determination, Omar stood up and resumed work.

Minutes later, the workers were summoned for a meeting with their boss, Mr. Kabir Sharif.

Omar joined the crowd, his eyes fixed on Mr. Sharif as he began to speak. "Good day, everyone," Mr. Sharif said, his eyes scanning the crowd. "You all know I don't usually hold meetings, so when I do, it's important." The workers nodded, some murmuring in agreement.

Mr. Sharif cleared his throat, continuing, "I received a call from my best customer today. He's placed a large order for concrete blocks, which must be delivered by the end of the day. The location is far, but the payment is substantial. I'll be selecting ten people to prepare the blocks for immediate loading onto the truck, and they'll be paid right away." Mr. Sharif paused, surveying the crowd as he considered his selections.
Everyone wanting to be picked especially Omar who needed the money so much.
He successfully picked 10 people from the crowd Omar not being one of them and his face fell immediately.

Mr. Kabir continued, "The ten individuals I've selected will be responsible for loading the concrete blocks onto the truck. Once you're finished, come see me for your payment." The chosen workers were thrilled at the prospect of immediate payment and eagerly accepted the task.

Mr. Kabir surveyed the crowd, searching for a trustworthy face. His eyes landed on Omar, and a hint of a smile appeared on his face. "You, Mr. Siddiqui," he said, gesturing towards Omar. Omar's face lit up with excitement as he stepped forward to receive the keys from Mr. Kabir.
