how a character was murdered.

CHAPTER FIVE

Theo and Blaise were sitting in the common room alongside Draco and Pansy. Eliza was in Snape's office.

The four had been arguing for the past twenty minutes.

"Blaise, I do not want to host a Muggle horror movie watch party. I don't care about Scream." Draco was complaining.

"But then we can learn how to survive it. Think about it. It's a good idea."

Theo snorted, "I don't think you've ever had a good idea in your life."

"Shut up, Nott. At least I didn't have to use a fake memory to get the girl I liked out of trouble." Blaise retorted.

"What?" Pansy asked.

"A fake memory?" Draco asked, his eyebrows raised.

"Don't worry about it." Theo grumbled.

"Who did you use a fake memory on?" Pansy asked, not dropping the subject.

Blaise (who could no longer contain the secret that he swore to Theo that he would not tell anyone) blurted, "He and Eliza had to talk to an Auror the other night and Eliza was going to be in trouble unless she had an alibi, so Theo conjured up a little make out session between the two of them and showed it to Auror McLaggen to get her out of trouble."

Draco gasped, "No!"

Pansy was frowning, "Keep your dick in your pants and far away from my sister, Nott."

Theo rolled his eyes, "If it weren't for me then Eliza would be sitting in Azkaban right now so what you're meaning to say is 'Thank you, Theo.'"

"Wow, thank you so much, Theodore." Pansy sarcastically replied.

"You're welcome." He grinned.

"Why'd you have a memory like that ready to go anyways, Nott?" Draco questioned.

Theo blinked, opening his mouth, but no words coming out.

Blaise cleared his throat, "We should go check on Eliza, they said it'd only take thirty minutes to question her, it's been nearly an hour."

"I don't think it'd be wise to leave the common room, Blaise." Draco reminded him.

Theo rolled his eyes, "Stop living in fear, Malfoy. I think by now we should know that this killer isn't stopped by us sitting in our common room."

Pansy nodded, "Yeah, it could easily be someone in this house."

Blaise frowned, "Why do you think that?" He asked rather defensively.

Pansy shrugged, "Jeez, I don't know, maybe because everyone is a suspect now. My own sister has been at the scene of two of the murders, Theo randomly shows up places, Blaise, you know an interesting amount about killing people, Draco, you're just suspicious— I don't really have a reason for it."

Draco scoffed, "Oh please, you and Eliza could easily be murderers, this could be some sick sisterly bonding thing between you two."

Theo snorted, "Okay, that's a little bit of a weird accusation, Malfoy."

"Yeah, fuck you, Draco, I'll have you know that I-"

Pansy was cut off by Eliza walking into the room, she shut the door behind her, and quietly walked over to the couches that the group was sitting on.

"Cormac McLaggen is dead." She mumbled as she propped her head up on her hands, rubbing at her temples.

"Since when?" Draco asked.

She placed her head in her hands, "Shortly before we found Ginny."

"Any new suspects?" Blaise asked, leaning forward on his hand.

She shrugged, "I don't know, he was found hanging from a chandelier, but that didn't cause his death, he was stabbed seven times before his throat was slashed. Apparently the slash was so deep that his head was nearly detached from his body by the time they finally pulled him down."

"Merlin!" Blaise exclaimed, intrigued.

Draco swatted him, "Stop sounding so excited over these things."

Blaise shrugged, "I can't help it, this is crazy! What other wizarding school has some psycho running around murdering people in weird Muggle ways?"

Pansy stood up, "Blaise, you need serious help, I'm going to my room and locking myself in there."

"But what about our movie?" Blaise asked, "Tonight at eight?"

"Fuck off!" Pansy exclaimed, walking away.

"Are you still on about your stupid Muggle movie?" Eliza asked.

"Yes, I really think we should all watch it. It could be beneficial to our survival."

Eliza rolled her eyes, "If I watch this goddamn movie with you I never want to hear about it again. Deal?"

Blaise frowned, "Could you be a bit more excited about it?"

Eliza shared a look with Theo, "No." She deadpanned.

"Well this is exciting for me."

"I don't give a fuck."

"When are we watching the movie, Zabini?" Theo asked, annoyed.

"Tonight. We need to wait for it to get dark. That's what they did when they had their movie party in Scream."

"Just great, the perfect time for some masked killer to be sneaking around." Malfoy scoffed.
