Chapter 2 - First Dance

My days off normally consist of me trying to run errands and being productive, but I couldn't find it in me today to do much of anything. After finally eating and showering up, I put on some spooky tv to try and distract my mind at the problem ahead.

I'd always envied the dancers, they always looked so beautiful and elegant at the same time pulling you into your deepest fantasies with how they move their body's to entrap you. I've been taking pole classes and trained a lot by myself, but I know it would be totally different to be the center of attention and in charge of hypnotizing the audience.

It's definitely enticing.

Especially after only 6 months of me working at the club. I make good money with tips seeing as it's one of the most popular clubs in the city, but to actually be a dancer? Maybe stressing over my past debt could become a distant memory.

I look at the pole in the center of my living room and think on all of the long nights and bruises I've endured from just how much work I've put into it, maybe this could be a way of having all of my hard work finally pay off.

My phone buzzes with a text from Axelle, causing me to grin.

She's always been a tad boy crazy but it evens out our friendship seeing as I never date nor do I care to, an extremely toxic relationship will do that to you. However, since starting here she's been an amazing friend as well as some of the others I've met working at the club, I don't know what I'd do without them.

Changing into shorts and a tank I throw on a slow, sexy song to practice to, imaging myself on that stage as I move my body sensationally with the beat. I spin slowly, doing the routines I've made like they're second nature or breathing air as I empty my head and fully let my alter ego take over my body.

Pole has been a way for me to retake my body, my life and my happiness. Enduring what I did, I fell into a deep depression that nearly swallowed me whole until I decided to reclaim my life and go for a dream I've always wanted.

Ending off the dance when the music stopped I reminded myself why I went on this journey, to become everything I wanted to in life and not let myself hold me back.

Picking up my phone I text Malik.

I'll do it, let me know my new schedule change!

I walk into work the next night with my heart pounding in my chest, but still determined nonetheless. Heading to the locker rooms, I get stopped by one of my favorite coworker and best friends.

"Oh hey y/n I heard you'll be on stage tonight! Just know you'll kill it and I'll be rooting for you!" Nobara, another server says holding a tray of drinks.

"Thank you, I'm gonna need it. Also I think I'll need a shot too." I chuckle.

"Oh I'll bring you one back after I run these to those ungrateful guys over there. Some of these men can be such a pain, I swear." She says rolling her eyes. "Also, have you seen our new bartender, Choso?"

"Oh no I just got here! Axelle says he's to die for apparently." I say rolling my eyes back.

"No she's right y/n, you have to go meet him. He's so sweet and quiet but my god is he hot. He's a little shy, kinda like you when you first started here." She exclaims.

"Oh yeah? I'll go see what he's all about later, I gotta get ready for my set so don't forget my shot!"

"Okay okay I won't!"

Getting in the back I finally am able to change into a black sparkly two piece lingerie set and black stiletto boots with a glittery heel. Wearing black makes me feel 10 times more confident in my day to day life, so I figured it was a safe bet for tonight.

I had already done my makeup but I sat down at one of the vanity's to touch up my hair and lashes, other dancers coming by to give their support and any advice they got which I am highly thankful for.

After Nobara came back with my shot, which felt like a double, it was finally my time to go up. I'd only be doing 1 set to 3 songs tonight as my opening 'try outs', but as soon as I stepped out and ready to approach the stage I felt butterflies pile in my throat.

"Hey miss y/n, you look absolutely stunning tonight so no need to worry. I know you can do this, just believe in yourself honey." Malik says softly as he comes up beside me.

Exhaling a breath, I hear the announcer call me up. "It's everyone's favorite girl from the bar to the stage, please welcome our newest, Vixen!"

As soon as I step on stage I feel my worries wash off me as familiar customers and even new erupted into a applause, some even yelling out for me. Hearing the music start I go into my alter ego and let her take me over.

Moving slow I turn myself into a seductress, caressing my body, throwing hair tosses and climbing into different spins and poses to make the audience believe I'm their newest sexual fantasy.

It feels so freeing to move like this, showing off my pole skills and floor work as I crawl slowly to a group of men, sitting up I slowly slid my knees down and pull back up to give the illusion of me riding them as I rub my hands my neck and inner thighs.

The absolute awe in these men's eyes makes me feel like a goddess.

Getting to the last song, Is There Someone Else? by The Weeknd I give it my all to really let Vixon take over and give the crowd exactly what they want when my eyes make their way to the bar to Axelle as she serves a drink to someone in front of her.

Also to the man I saw in my apartment complex, Choso they say his name was who's standing next to her. Our eyes locked and it was like I was now dancing solely for him as the rest of the crowd faded out, the look in his eyes sending heat all over my body from across the club.

"Give it up for our newest dancer, Vixen!" I hear the announcer say as the club erupted in more cheers.

As one of the staff gathered my money for me, I thanked him and went to the back in a complete daze.

That man... is going to be trouble for me.
