Merlin (Once upon a time fanfic)

part seven

The air was like icicles in their lungs as they walked quicker to try and stay warm. The path they had chosen was uphill, Robin was an expert in finding vantage points, he knew the higher up they got the more they would be able to see. They headed up the steepest hill in sight.

" Take my coat Snow you are Freezing! " David said as he tried to hand his wife the coat that was keeping him warm.

"David I am fine!" Snow snapped back at him, pushing away his hand.

The more they walked the more and more annoyed snow became. The only thing she Could think about was Emma and how the darkness was apart of her now and it would stay that way if they did not find Merlin.

" Gold, I have seen you make things appear and disappear both, any chance of some coats or a fire, something to keep us Warm? " Killian inquired as he stood shivering in his leather boots.

Gold swished his hand through the air and each person found themselves wearing a think furry coat.

" Just a bit further, you should see the view from up here it is incredible!" Robins words stopped as he took in the outstandingly beautiful view that surrounded him. He felt as if he was on the top of the world, being able to see every corner of the realm from that very spot.

They each made their way up to Robin, as they all stood there Snow heard the sound of footsteps crashing through the snow beneath their feet, she turned around to see no one.

"Anyone know where Merlin would live?" Robin wondered as they had come this far and still did not know what they where looking for all they had was the name. Merlin and that was it.

No one responded to Robins question as they stood taking in the realm around them. A thick layer of snow covered the whole realm as far as the eye could see, every tree top was full of fresh snow. To the east they could see a castle like building, surrounded by a frozen sea of ice, nothing moved in the land now even the trees swaying in the breeze. To the west there was to huge mountains that where taller than the clouds, between them two mountains there was a thin looking tower, that stood crucked. Between the castle and the tower there was very little a thick forest of trees, a frozen river with a damn and a small cottage with smoke pouring out the chimney.

" May I suggest we start over There? " Killian said as he pointed towards the cottage. " At least with the smoke coming out we know some one will be home."

The group nodded in agreement as they Began to walk slowly down the steep hill decline. Regina slipped and fell to the ground before she began sliding down the hill side. Robin raced after her grabbing her hand he managed to pull her to her feet.

" Are you Alright? " he inquired as he placed one hand on her cheek.

"I'm fine" Regina wrapped her hands around his waist hugging him tightly. Robin immediately hugged her back hoping he would never have to let go of her.

Mr. Gold, Snow, David and Killian had all caught up to Robin and Regina, they were a few hundred feet away from the cottage. The sun had began to set, the sky was turning different shades of pinks, oranges and red. They all knew that soon night fall would be upon them.

On reaching the cottage, David knocked on the door, after the first tap the door creaked open. To their amazement they entered unknowing to what may live inside.

Stepping through the door of the cottage was like stepping into another dimension, it was bigger on the inside, a roaring fire filled the place with a warmth they had all began to miss, there was many chairs for sitting on and tables but there was nothing hanging on the wall. Even in the enchanted forest they had had paintings on the walls, but in here there was nothing.

" Listen!" Snow exclaimed "can you hear That?"

There was a soft humming sound coming from a room in the back of the cottage.

" Hello! " Snow shouted loud enough to wake the whole realm.

I young girl walked out of the room, she could be not much older than 18, she had bright orange hair that danced down her back like flames in a fire. Her pale skin looked even more white contrasted against the black clothing she had on. She wore a black leather like jumpsuit that had long sleeves, that cover her hands mostly. The jumpsuit was tightly fitted and showed off her very thin figure. Her emerald green eyes where unsettling as she looked each person up and down. Snow thought see had seen them eyes before but could not remember where.

" So you finally found me, your majesty" the girl bowed her head as she spoke.

Regina opened her mouth to reply. But before she could.

" I was talking to the true Queen. " the girl said turn in her head to Snow.

" I'm Snow White, we need your help we were told by the apprentice that you could destroy the darkness forever." Tears filled Snow's eyes as she realised that the life of her daughter was in the hands of a young girl.
