part seventeen

It was eight thirty and Regina was ready for work, she felt sick to the pit of her stomach but knew that she was mayor and someone had to man the office. She made here way down stairs where the boys were sat eating their cereals and Annie stood washing the pots.

" Henry the bus leaves in seven minutes you nd Roland need to get going." Regina did not eve look at Robin she was still annoyed from his earlier remarks.

" Come on Roland we have got to go." He took the little boys hand and they walked out of the house.

Annie could feel the tension between Regina and Robin.

" Well I think I left something in my room." Before they could say anything she was making her way up the stairs.

" Regina I am sorry. I didn't mean to upset you, I was just trying to be funny." Robin seeking her forgiveness.

" I messed up Snow's child hood that much she does not think of me even as her step mother, I am merely her grandsons adoptive mother." She began to cry.

" Regina snow loves you she thinks of you as family. Maybe no as a mother as you are what seven years older than her." She laughed and his heart felt warm again.

"I need to get to work, this town doesn't run itself, I should have done that in the first curse." She chuckle as she walked to the closet to get her coat. " Annie" she shouted.

" Yes mother" she said sarcastically with a laugh.

" I was wondering if you want to come to work with me, give you something to do? "

"I would love to." Regina was shocked at Annie's answer.

They both made their way to the mayors office. Once their Regina showed Annie everything that she did and how she did it. It wasn't long before she had Annie filing and faxing documents.
" Annie I have an appointment I need to go to will you be okay maning the office I won't be long, if anyone comes in just ask them what's the problem and make a note of it." She picked up her bag and coat.

" Yeah shouldn't be a problem." Annie smiled.

She left the office and breathed in the autumn air she still felt sick. She had not eaten all day it was nox twelve o'clock and she was making her way to Snow's apartment, hoping that she would be there.

She climbed up all the stairs and knocked on the door.

"Regina, hi what a surprise. " Snow greeted her.

"Can we talk about something please I need your advice. " a tear formed in the corner of Regina's eye.

" Sure come in come in, can I get you a drink, tea coffee Water? " Snow offered.

" Water please." Regina picked prince Neil up from his cot. "Well hello, look at you, your growing up so fast." She pulled funny face at the baby and he laugh in reply.

" Here you go Regina. What is it you need my help with?" They took a seat on the sofa Regina placing baby Neil on her knee.

" You can not tell a soul about this Snow, I have not even told Robin." Regina started.

" Regina I won't I promise. I know I have let you down in the past and it was my mistake that cost the life of Daniel and I am sorry for that there isn't a day that goes by where I don't regret my actions." Snow looked at Regina as she turned her head not wanting Snow to see her cry. Snow edge close to her on the sofa and place a hand on her shoulder.

" Sorry all I seem to do these days is cry." She stopped wiped the tears from her face. " but it's not your fault, I would have done the same if I was in your position you loved your father deeply and you wanted to protect him. I understand that. But it is me who should be apologising Snow I ruined your childhood, took your baby away from you." Her words trailed off as she could not hold back the tears any longer.
