Stand by Him | Sodo

𝑳 - 𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓

「𝑶𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒂'𝒔 𝒑𝒐𝒗」

Sodo and I currently sat in his room. Midnight was coming in around 2 hours, and Sodo and I had planned to go upstairs with the others in about an hour. In the meantime, we were relaxing in his room.

I sat in his bed while he rested his head on my chest, looking like he was on the verge of falling asleep as I ran my hand through his hair.

As Sodo was just relaxing there, I started to braid his hair. Sodo didn't even seem to notice that I was doing so. If he did notice, he didn't even seem to care. Whatever it was, Sodo just stayed like this with his head on my chest, and his eyes closed.

「Later」

It was now 11:18 PM, and I gently shook Sodo to wake him up as it was time to go upstairs with the others as he had said that he'd be there by 11PM or so.

« Sodo, wake up... » I whispered.

He slowly opened his eyes and stirred as he was clearly being stubborn and refused to get up.

I laughed quietly. « Sodo, if you don't get up, we'll miss the countdown. » I said.

« Nooo... It's too comfortable, let me beeee. » He said as he smiled while keeping his eyes closed.

« Nu-uh, get your lazy ass up. » I said playfully as I stood up myself, forcing Sodo to get off of me.

He groaned and put his hands over his eyes before sitting up in his bed and stretching. I stood by his bed and waited for him to stand up so we could head upstairs to the living room together.

As soon as he was on his feet, I grabbed his hand, and we left his room to head upstairs. When we got in the living room, I immediately went to sit next to Kelly, who was sitting on the couch with Swiss sitting next to her.

« Hii! » Kelly said, seeming excited for the new year.

« Hey!! » I said, smiling at Kelly.

« Where even were you? I haven't of the whole evening. » Kelly said, raising an eyebrow.

I chuckled. « I was downstairs. Do you ever think of checking there? » I asked her.

She chuckled as well, feeling a little embarrassed about the fact that she, in fact, never thought about checking the basement when she couldn't find me.

Time went by, and we were getting closer and closer to starting the countdown. Everyone stood in the living room and kept checking the time on the TV. Soon, it was 11:59 PM. Each one of us started to count down as there were now 10 seconds left until midnight.

Looking at Sodo with a smile, we both counted down along with the ghouls, Kelly, and Copia.

« 10... 9... 8... 7... 6... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... Happy New Year!!! » Every single one of us exclaimed loudly at the same time.

As soon as the countdown was over, Swiss didn't waste any time and just immediately pressed his lips against Kelly's, just like that. We all laughed as this happened right before us yet found it to be adorable. On the other hand, Kelly's face was red as she was either flustered or embarrassed by being kissed in front of everyone like that.

Sodo looked at me and winked before doing the exact same yet, making the kiss shorter than Swiss did with Kelly.

« YEEEEEAAAHHHHHHH!!!! » Cirrus exclaimed as she pointed at us while we kissed.

I started laughing as Sodo pulled away, amused by Cirrus's reaction to this action.

「In the morning」

I obviously went to sleep late and woke up late as well. Once I was awake, I took my time to get ready for the day before noticing I had received a message from Sodo just a few minutes ago. Curious as to what the message was, I opened it and read it.

'Hey, cutie ;)

Can you come downstairs to my room rq? I have something I need to give you.'

His text said. I smiled at the nickname he gave me before closing my phone and finishing getting ready and heading downstairs. I said hello to the ghouls who were already awake as I was making my way downstairs. I soon reached the bottom of the stairs and started to walk towards Sodo's room, wondering what he wanted to give me. My curiosity was growing with each step I took closer to his room.
