Then
First Date: Kim Sunoo & Park Sunghoon

Sunghoon felt like his hands wouldn't stop shaking. It started midday yesterday and hadn't stopped his nerves on fire as he thought about his date with Sunoo. His first date ever and it was with his mate, it was enough to be nervous about.

"I swear I can hear your bones shaking from my room," Yeji says as she walks into his room "are you really that nervous?" Her question is innocent enough, not an ounce of teasing in her voice as she sits on her brother's bed. Sunghoon glances her way before joining her.

"Yeah I-I really am. I don't want to mess things up."

"I don't see how you can. Those flowers are beautiful and I think your date idea is really amazing. From what you've told me about him I think Sunoo will have a lot of fun"

"Honestly...I'm more worried about myself on this date. Like about the things I might say and might not say. Will I say something to annoy or offend him? Will I not be able to hold a conversation with him? Sunoo is good at speaking, I could listen to him talk for hours but...I'm afraid I'll fall short"

"Hoonie! Those are all valid fears but you wanna know what I think?" Sunghoon opens his mouth to say something only for Yeji to continue without hearing his response "I think that no matter if you say something stupid which inevitably you will no offense, and even if you don't speak enough I think Sunoo will just be happy to spend time with you." Yeji's honesty and maturity never ceases to surprise Sunghoon. It warms his heart how much his sister listens and cares about him. He sniffs once wiping under his nose before giving her a shove.

"When did you become so smart huh?"

The girl huffs as she brushes her hair behind her ear. "I've always been smart, you've just been too dumb to notice."

"Yeah whatever brat. Get out of my room," Sunghoon groans as he kicks her lightly on the shin.

"I'm only teasing! But Hoon. I'm really happy you get to show this side of you to someone. Now go make him happy" Yeji says. She places a quick kiss on Sunghoon's cheek and makes her exit from his room with a little skip.

Sunghoon watches his sister leave with a fond smile on his face. She really is one of the best people in his life. Slowly he looks over to his desk where a small bouquet of yellow daffodils sat that would soon belong to someone else who he hoped would soon be another one of his favorite people. It had been an utter nightmare going into the florist shop. He knows Sunoo loves a wide range of flowers and Sunghoon had no idea which would be the best pick for him but the florist was very patient with him helping him pick the lovely arrangement of daffodils.

"Sunghoon? Isn't it almost time for your date?" Momma calls from the bottom of the stairs. Grabbing his phone, Sunghoon clicks the device on seeing it was indeed almost time for his date. Swiftly he gets up from his bed smoothing out the small creases before making his way to his desk. Delicately he holds the bouquet of flowers while balancing his hoodie and bag in his arms.

"Well don't you look snuggly" Ma says once he's in their sights. It was true Sunghoon did look rather...snuggly in his black joggers paired with his navy blue hoodie and a black tee underneath.

"Is it bad?" Sunghoon questions. His tongue pokes out of his mouth just the smallest bit as he bites down on it.

"No! Not at all! I think it's charming!" Momma rushes out not wanting to dent the boys confidence.

"O-k."

"Have fun and make sure Sunoo stays warm."

"I will. I'll take care of him."
