Jay likes nest naps, but he loves nest naps with his mates even more. Sunghoon says they look like a litter of kittens rather than a pack of wolves, and after hearing this a few times, Jay has to agree.

The sun shines from his bedroom window, hitting the nest just right. There's enough light and warmth for them to share, bodies curled together so that Jay can't tell where any of them start and end.

Sometimes, Jay squishes Sunoo and Jungwon together to lie on top of them. His pack omega instincts urge him to keep them hidden, safe, and warm. The two pups hardly protest, letting their pack omega do as he pleases. When Jay feels less protective, he's squished in the middle cheek to cheek with his mates. What should have been a nap of a few hours turns into them napping the evening away, the warm sun replaced by the dull light of the moon.

Days Sunoo comes to him to nest causes a sense of pride to run through Jay. The younger omega still fidgets awkwardly, splotches of pink decorate his face as he climbs into the nest. Jay is always a bit mean when it's just them. He lets Sunoo hide his face in his neck, his hands trailing up and down Sunoo's spine, feeling him shiver. When the boy gets nice and comfortable, Jay pulls him back, tracing the red splotches on the younger's cheeks admiring the glossy look in his eyes.

"Sweet boy. Are you comfortable, my love?" Sunoo almost always responds with incoherent babbles, his mind teetering on the verge of omega space. Seeing Sunoo in such a state makes Jay feel honored that his mate trusts him enough to let go, to put his life entirely in Jay's hands. He knows Jay would never let anything happen to him and that Jay would take care of him.

Because they are like a litter of kittens, Jungwon always finds a way to bully his way into the nest. He squishes his cheek against Jay's chest while holding Sunoo's shirt or burrows his way inside Sunoo's hoodie until they're sharing, his ankle hooked around Jay's always needing to touch one or both of them.

Jungwon isn't the only one who finds his way to the nest. More times than not Jay will wake to a stray pup at the end of his bed, although Jay shouldn't call him a stray because Jake is his. His cute puppy.

Jay will tell Jake a hundred times that it's alright to climb into the nest with them to nap. Jake will sleep at the edge of the nest like a guard dog every time. Nesting with Jay is a joy. Nesting with Jay as the pack omega alongside his pups is a blessing Jake believes he needs permission for. Jay will grant it to him time and time again pulling the puppy into his soothing embrace.

Jake is always warm. He hardly sleeps in the nest with a shirt, his bare skin warm. Jay will toss the blankets over the edge of the bed, stripping himself and his omegas of their shirts and pants and leaving them in their boxers. They touch, scent, kiss, feeling warm skin on skin, the most vulnerable form of nesting, something they only do with their pack omega.

Jay gets particularly possessive during those times, muttering things like "...my sweet boy, my Sunoo, my puppy." Mine, mine, mine. Jay doesn't consider himself a possessive person, but having his pups in his nest drove his mind into a primal state. Those were his pups to love and his to protect.

Even Sunghoon isn't allowed in his room during those moments, a lesson the alpha learned after Jay hissed and growled at him more like a feral cat than a wolf. Still, Sunghoon backed away as the omega bared his teeth canines gleamed under the light, ready to bite into Sunghoon if he got any closer to his nest.

The pack alpha doesn't challenge his authority. He simply indulges his omega. Sunghoon keeps the bedroom door closed and stays in the living room. Sunghoon always makes sure his pheromones fluff out nicely in their home. The pack alpha protects the den, while his omega protects the nest.

And when all is said and done, the pack alpha gets his moment. Rare moments in the week when it's just the two of them because Jay is greedy, exploiting his knowledge of the pack alpha's soft heart. He'll flutter his lashes at the alpha before pulling the younger one into his nest, promising five minutes.

"Just give me five minutes, Hoon-ah. Rest your eyes, hmm?"

It's a pitiful excuse but one the omega is willing to use.

Despite lulling Sunghoon into his nest, he always fights, his pride rendering him unable to bend easily to the alpha's will. He whines and complains as Sunghoon positions him to his liking until they're back to chest. Sunghoon's hands wander, skimming over Jay's soft tummy and his sides before holding Jay by the hips. His teeth nip at the older man's scent gland, daring him to move away. Despite his rapid heartbeat, Jay never does.

He lays still and pliant as Sunghoon licks and bites at his scent gland, causing it to turn red and inflamed. The aftermath is annoying, but Jay enjoys being held rather than always doing the holding because this is his alpha. His alpha who helps him feel small and vulnerable in the best ways. Who allows him to be petty, stubborn, and prideful when he needs to be, never going out of his way to "correct" his behavior.

"We're equals," he said, and Jay chooses to believe that.

Jay likes nest naps, and he loves nest naps with his mates, but the best feeling of all is when they're together. Jay is particular about his nest. He wants his pups right in the middle of him and Sunghoon, where they're the safest. His brain reminds him that they're so small and sweet that they can't be on the edge of the nest. They need to be protected.

Despite his best efforts, his pack mates are mischievous. The pups worm out of the middle sticking to Sunghoon or Jake like glue. Sometimes, Jake wiggles his way to the edge so as not to disturb anyone. He's a chaotic sleeper, usually shifting into multiple positions a night. Jay would pull him away from the edge most nights, worried his pup would fall and get hurt.

It's always so much work to keep his pack mates in line but Jay does it with a warm heart. These days his nest feels so large in comparison to the ones he used to make, just for him, then for him and Jungwon. The nest gets a bit bigger, almost to the edge of the mattress, as his omega carves out a space for one more.

He knows it will be a while before they add another to their pack, but Jay feels the day creeping on him as the days pass.

One day, there will be one more body, one more pack mate to fuss over in his nest. For now, Jay tends to the ones in his nest, keeping them warm and safe in his care.

I love omega jay. He might not be as cute and sweet as Jake or Jungwon, or delicate and cheeky like Sunoo but he is still very fluffy. I love that he's settled more in his role as pack omega and just relaxing in his sub-gender as a whole.

I imagine the jay that first enters the story to be a bit more aggressive and chic while this version of jay has settled into his role more. He's still very chic and cool but he's got idk a softer edge now. He doesn't style his hair as often leaving his bangs in his eyes and his smile is gentler now that he's not so obsessed with keeping up appearances.

Now he just relaxes and cuddles and nests and loves on his pack and it brings me so much joy to write him in this light, especially with how hard he's worked to settle after his family drama. He's also not as afraid or against an alphas affection and craves it not as a need but he actually wants it. He likes play fighting with sunghoon for attention and settling into his embrace when he's done and sunghoon is a greedy mf so he's gonna eat that affection up! I hope you guys enjoyed this little chapter! Last one for October and before the new chapter this weekend! Thanks for reading 🤍
