Mate?

Xavier's P.O.V

Today dad needed me for some Alpha business, but this morning there was the most ideal scent of vanilla and jasmine. I wanted to wake up Ariel but mom said since it was her birthday I wasn't allowed to bother her. I tried multiple times but we have that stupid werewolf hearing, so I took my motorcycle to the pack house. "Dad?" I head over to his office.

'Yes Alpha Xavier will be here shortly, thank you so much for being here. I bet he will love the news.' I could hear him say. I open the doors to see our enemies Alpha. Of course he's here, "Xavier, this is Alpha Blake, Alpha of the White Trail pack." I nod my head and sit on the chair across from them.

"What's the good news?" I say putting quotation marks around 'good'. I could see Blake frown at the corner of my eye. I pull my phone out to check my email.

"Well The White Trail pack has agreed to be at peace with us."

"Oh really?" Conditions.......

"But there are some complications...." Complications?

"You must wed to the daughter, Victoria." I freeze.

"Not happening, thank you for coming. Now if you will excuse me I have to go to school." I say grabbing my bag from behind the chair. I could hear Blake start to growl. 'We cant get him to corporate, get Victoria up here now!' I could hear him yell.

Now I know he didn't say that, I look over at him to see his face is calm and composed....... I hear a knock at the door. "Hello?" I turn to Victoria peeking through the door. "Blake?"

"Xavier, this is Victoria." Blake says.

"I know, but I will not marry her.  Very sorry I will be leaving."

"But babe..." She says almost grabbing my wrist.

"Xavier....... Its either you or Ariel...." I freeze and look back at Victoria. He knows how much I care about Ariel. He was the only person holding me back from killing Brice when he broke up with he. She was in so much pain...... "What about mates?" I growl.

"If you find your mate today, then fine you don't have to marry her, but in the meantime just listen and do as I say." He growls.

"Fine but I actually have to go to school now," I forcefully got my arm out of his grip. I glared at him on my way out, I shifted and ran to school. I have to find my mate today? I could feel Ace surfacing, but not from anger, from anxiety.  Ace what is wrong with you? 'I don't know just nervous and happy...' Ok..... I hear my phone ring as I reach the school. I look at my texts to see 15 messages sent from Victoria.

I give her a call. "Hey what-cha-need?" I ask trying not to sound pissed.

"Xavier don't be mad at me babe, I swear I was going to tell you... But where are you?"

"I'm at school..."

"Oh ok good... I thought you went looking for your mate.... I can't wait to get married babe..." I growl away from the phone.

"Look I got to go...." I say keeping in the growl I had.

"Ok babe love you..." I turned off my phone before crushing it in my hand.

I run to my first class I can't wait to see Ariel. I need to tell her about the arrangement, Ariel usually comes up with all the solutions. When I reach my locker I grab my books and put away my backpack. I head to my class when I was hit with the scent. Vanilla and jasmine, I look and I'm staring in the eyes of my mate, my beautiful mate.

I realize that behind her there is a guy pointing a gun at her head. I growl to get him away but he doesn't move. "So these are the alpha's kids? Ha! Them Lycans?" He said pulling back the trigger. Kids?! Ariel is here?! I'm to nervous to move, afraid he might pull the trigger on my mate.

"Yeah, the legends..." the other guy says. I noticed that they are only wearing black. "Well this would be more easy than planned, good thing she didn't find her mate..." Who is it?!

He pulled the trigger and I waited for the pain, but it never came. She's not dead? I look to see the gun still pointed at her but the man with a stunned face. I looked at her hand and notice... the bullet is still in her hand... "H-how?" I could feel him become frightened.

"Did you, want this back?" She asks. That sounded a lot like Ariel, but she would never wear that....

"But that's silver, you should be in pain!" He says backing away. "You can't kill Lycans..." She growls. She throws the bullet back and it goes straight through him, dead.

"Now, tell me..." She says stepping over the, now, body.

"How did you find us?" She asks innocently.

"You, you and your pack shall die." he growls.

"Ok we will but tell me pretty boy.  Are you alpha?" I slightly growl feeling she should be saying that to me.

"Depends who's asking," he says backing away. "Aww come on, play fair." she says putting her hand on his chest. I was about to snap but in an instant his heart is in her hand, "Oops times up." She says as the body drops to the floor. I look at the heart in her hand. 'Wow... She's perfect...' I pray she isn't hurt.

I look at the girl to see she is wearing black pant, high heels, a white shirt and a jean jacket... 'She is perfect.....' I hear Ace growl. I smile, she is wearing a bit of makeup but not enough to cover her whole face. Her blonde hair in a perfect high ponytail, with bangs covering half her eye. Perfect curves, the most beautiful body... My smile is instantly knocked off my face realizing who it is....
