Chapter 3 The talk/The first encounter

Derek's pov

We made it home and it was dark in the house. We all walked in and I was the first to come in so I turned on the lights. I can't get that scent out of my nose still. I do need to talk to Athena tonight before we all go to bed though.

"Athena can I talk to you outside? Away from the house?" I needed to get away from the pack so they don't, you know eavesdrop on our conversation. She nodded and I walked outside of the house. I walked away from the house a couple miles away but not that far away to where if something happened I could run over and help. Soon after Athena showed up.

"What you need dad?" She was changed to something more comfortable for her to wear out here.

"Well first I wanted to know if we could meet your mate soon, since we didn't meet them today, but I want to know his name, his parents and his phone number just in case you get hurt or I don't know where you are and your not answering your phone? Got it? I'm just looking out for you Athena." I looked for any expression that showed me what she was thinking.

"Ok, but I don't have is number yet. We only talk at school." She was fidgeting with the zipper she had on her shirt. 'She's nervous.'

"That's okay, just get to know him better and don't do anything" I believe she knows what I'm talking about.

"Ewww, dad, that's just not what I needed to hear from you. I'm also just sixteen so I'm good on not doing any of the things teens do." She was laughing half way through her talking, I just smiled and watched her.

"Good, cause I'm not ready for kids to be running around the house." I started to laugh, she had a face as red as a tomato. It was hilarious.

"DAD!! Stop it." She didn't mean it, I think I just embarrassed her. At least it wasn't with other people here.

"Dad?" She stopped laughing and straighted herself.

"Yes?" I looked into her eyes and she was really serious.

"What happened to you in Arby's?" She raised one of her eyebrows with a questioning look.

"I...might have smelled my mate?" I didn't want to tell her for some reason.

"Really!? Did you get to see them?" She sounds happy?

"No, but I wish I could've." I looked at my feet. "We should probably go back."

"Okay" she started to walk to the house. I followed right after her.

We both made it back to the house and I went straight to my room right when we went through the door.

My room is kinda big but that's to be expected for an alpha. I just wish I could find my mate and have a Luna to help me with the pack. I know I don't really have that big of a pack yet.

I might go walk around town and see the places around beacon hills and maybe find my mate tomorrow.

Athena thought she had to come with so here we are walking on the streets to the grocery store. Athena wanted something to snack on while we walk so we're going there.

The store was smaller than normal one's because it was a small town. The store looked like the average one and it has no other stores around it outside. This grocery store is closer to my house than anything else is.

We walked in and I scented my mate in here. I walked on without Athena. I walked by rows and rows of groceries. The scent got stronger the more I moved to the back of the store.

There he was. A gorgeous young man that looked like he was in his teens or I could be wrong. I just stood there staring at him. He finally looked at me and his face lit up.

"Scott!! I found my mate!!" My amazing mate yelled a little to get someones attention.

"Really? Where is he?" A male that had Brown or Black hair with a weird jaw line and a mole under his right eye.

My mate pointed at me. The males eyes widened a lot.

"Derek?" How does he know me? I don't think I've seen him before? 

"Yes? Do I know you?" The male walked closer to me.

"It's me, Scott" I still don't remember him

"I still don't remember you" Scott walked a little more and now he's in front of me.

"You helped me escape from an alpha that was going to do something to me when I came into town to get groceries" Oh! Now I remember him. He had an alpha follow him and I notice him being followed and stopped the alpha from doing anything to him. 

"Now I remember you. I'm glad that you got home safe." 

"Thank you, I'm very glad that I got back safe." Scott smiled and looked at my mate. My mate was just staring at me with a smile on his face. 

"Stiles? You okay buddy?" Scott put one of his hands on his shoulder, I almost let out a growl but I stopped it before it came out.

"I'm fine Scott." Stiles moves his hand to push Scott's hand off of his shoulder. Scott's face turned into a confused look when I looked at him. 

"Your name is Derek? I like that name it, suits you." Fuck, he's so cute and adorable. I walk over to him and look into his eyes. 

I move my hand to his hand and hold it. When my hand touched his, I could feel sparks on my fingertips. My hand had it's own mind because it moved up his wrist, and my hand glided over his arm to his shoulder. I don't know what I'm doing but I don't want it to stop.

My hand found it's destination, his lips. His lips where soft, plump, and kissable. I just wanted to take him away from everyone so I could have him all to my self.

Scott moved away from us a little and had his phone to his ear. I didn't even see him move. I was also focused on Stiles more than him.

Stiles eyes looked at my mouth for a second and then back to my eyes.

"Can I kiss you?" I hope he says yes. I want to feel those sparks when I kiss him.

"Yes!" His eyes sparkled a little, he almost looked like a little kid.

I moved my face closer to him and kissed him. It was the most wonderful thing thats happened to me. I had both my hands on his face and he had his hands around my neck.

I can't believe I found my mate at the grocery store.
