"Mai tumhari taraf kadam kaise badhau Murtasim, batao mujhe. Kaise badhau? Har dafa tum mujhe galat saabit kar dete ho."

Meerab was appalled after finding Murtasim in a compromising position with Haya. To say that she was upset or horrified or jealous or insecure would be an understatement. For her, Murtasim was different from the typical feudal lord image that she had in her mind. But finding him with Haya, in her clothes, that too in their room was more than a slap on her face.

When Feena had told her that Murtasim had went to village and Haya had tagged along, she was already enraged. She had not wasted a single minute to decide that she was too going to the village as she considered it as her haq. From past few days, things were going on fine between them. She had felt the distance between them decreasing. She was slowly urging herself to surrender in front of him as she felt he was genuinely sincere about her. She had felt his love, even though he had never verbally confessed. After the accident when he saved her, she had understood how important she was to him. When he had brought gajre for her and had himself made her wear them, his intense gaze had told her how much he loved her. But the fact that he was with Haya from past two days, made her feel insecure. Her parents had already abandoned her. The only person she had now in her life to rely upon was Murtasim. But his closeness with Haya increases her insecurities always made her doubt him. And today, he was standing in front of her, defending himself when she had caught him red-handed. He nodded his head, denying the blame she was putting on him.

"There is nothing like you are assuming. "

he held her hands and continued hurriedly,

 "I love you."

She quickly pulled her hands back, causing him to flinch a little

"YOU DON'T"

she shouted, denying his love for her.

Meerab's eyes glistened with tears as she faced her husband, her voice a blend of hurt and anger. "You know what? Galti meri hai jo yahan apna haq samajh ke aa gayi."

Murtasim came near her and held her arm and said.

"Can we go inside and talk? "

Meerab pulled her arm.

"DONT TOUCH ME!"

"Meerab "

She had just seen her husband standing close to the woman who was both his cousin and madly in love with him. He was looking into her eyes as if trying to seek into her soul, but what he failed to see was the way Haya ran her fingers lightly up and down his arm. There was no chance she was going to stick around and watch any more of this. Before she could make another move, Murtasim swiftly closed the distance between them, his large frame overshadowing hers. Without uttering a word, he scooped her up into his arms. Meerab's protests and struggles were futile against his firm grip.Murtasim carried her inside the house and into a room which he was staying in. He placed her gently on the bed and sat beside her. The dim lighting accentuated the depth of his gaze as he looked down at her, a mix of concern, desperation, and an underlying passion.

"You're not leaving until we clear this up,"

he said firmly.

Murtasim went and brought water for her.

"Drink some water and calm down. "

Meerab drank the water. meanwhile murtasim came and sat on the chair.

Murtasim let out a deep sigh and lowered his gaze. He was well aware of how the situation appeared to Meerab and that she had every right to be mad at him.

"It's not what it looks like."

he said softly, his eyes searching hers for understanding.

"no so what is it am hmm ..."

"Meerab listen "

"Do you think that I am some mad person that I will not understand what is going on here you were showering your love on Haya"?

"Meerab please try to understand it's not that it looks like trust me. "

"Ok I will trust you but tell me something that I can trust."

"I was in my room when Haya came, she said that something went into her eyes, and I was just helping her. "

"Ok if this is the truth, I will believe but why did you not tell me that you were going to village and you took Haya with you, you should have told me I would come with you."

"Maa wanted someone to accompany me. I didn't give it much thought. Haya seemed indifferent to the problems of the villagers. With her, I could focus on resolving matters without the constant worry of looking after someone else. and I know, I should have taken someone else with me but when I was about to tell you in the morning, you were still sleeping and Chacha sahab had to be back home with the rest of the family, I didn't want Maa to get dragged in all of this."

"So that is your explanation seriously murtasim he would have woken me up. "

"I made a mistake of bringing Haya along with me and I am sorry for that. But believe me, I didn't plan on hiding this from you - I had asked Maryam to let you know and asked her to tell you to call me back."

murtasim phone rang and he went out to attend ma begum call and when he was done and about to go inside again, he saw Haya.

"murtasim I think Haya misunderstood us. "

"So, no problem go inside and tell her the whole truth and if you even have to swear your life let it be. "

they both went inside.

 Haya approached Meerab.

"Meerab, jaisa tum samajh rahi ho waisa kuch nahin hua hai."

Meerab's eyes, guarded and still carrying a hint of the anger and jealousy from before, fixed on Haya, waiting for her to explain.

"The power had gone out, and I felt a sharp sting in my eye. I panicked and went to the nearest room I could find, which happened to be Murtasim's. I just wanted to get whatever it was out of my eye."

As she continued, Meerab's defensive posture slightly relaxed, but her gaze remained sharp, searching Haya's face for any sign of deceit. Haya, sensing the need to further clarify, quickly added,

"Murtasim was only trying to help. He's done nothing wrong. It's just an unfortunate misunderstanding."

Meerab took a moment to process Haya's words, her tumultuous emotions settling into a calmer state. While doubts lingered in her mind, Haya's explanation provided some clarity on the situation.

she slapped Haya.

"So, you don't have some shame in you that you came near a married man stay away from him he is my husband Meray Nikah mai Hai. "

Haya went from their crying.

Meerab started making bed and then went to change her cloths as her cloths here already here as she returned, she went to sleep murtasim went to the bathroom and changed his cloths and came in the room and said.

"There is no sofa there guess we have to share the bed. "

"Hmm..."

"So can I sleep here?"

"Yes, I guess."

"Okay thankyou "

they both slept after clearing up all the misunderstandings.
