(An on-shot of a play day with baba and his princess )
______________The morning sun poured through the curtains, illuminating the cozy nursery where Murtasim sat cross-legged on the floor, surrounded by colorful toys. His heart swelled with warmth as he watched his little daughter, Meesam, crawl around, her tiny hands reaching for everything within her grasp. At just under a year old, she was a bundle of curiosity and joy.
"Hey there, little explorer," Murtasim said, grinning as Meesam turned her head and giggled, her dark eyes sparkling with mischief. She was in her element, investigating the soft plush animals that surrounded her.
Murtasim picked up a plush lion, holding it in front of him. "Look! It's Leo the Lion. He's going to tell you a secret about the jungle!" He leaned in, making silly faces, and Meesam clapped her hands, delighted by the exaggerated expression.
"Roar!" he said playfully, and she mimicked him with a soft growl, her baby voice cracking him up. "Exactly! You're a natural!"
The morning unfolded in laughter and light. Murtasim had set up a mini obstacle course using cushions and toys, encouraging Meesam to crawl through the makeshift jungle. Each time she navigated her way over a cushion, he cheered, "You did it, Meesam! You're so brave!"
With every little victory, Meesam would look back at her father, her face breaking into the most beautiful smile, as if she understood the praise meant just for her. Murtasim couldn't help but think how every day with her was a new adventure, filled with endless possibilities.
As they played, he sang silly songs, dancing around the room while Meesam crawled behind him, trying to keep up. "This is the jungle dance! Let's go, Meesam!" He twirled and spun, making her giggle uncontrollably, and for a moment, it felt as if nothing else mattered—just the two of them in their world of laughter.
After a while, Murtasim decided it was time for some artistic exploration. He laid out a large sheet of paper and set up a few non-toxic, washable paints. "Are you ready for some art?" he asked, pulling her onto his lap. Meesam's eyes widened at the colors, her tiny fingers reaching out to touch the bright blue paint.
"Let's make a masterpiece!" he encouraged, guiding her hands in a messy, joyful exploration. Together, they smeared colors across the paper, laughing at the splatters that decorated Murtasim's shirt more than the paper itself.
"Look at that! It's a colorful explosion!" he exclaimed, showing her their creation. Meesam let out a delighted squeal, clearly pleased with their handiwork, her cheeks flushed with excitement.
After the art session, they took a break, sitting on the floor with some snacks. Murtasim offered her tiny pieces of banana, which she picked up with her little fingers, often managing to squish more than she actually got into her mouth. "You're a little chef, Meesam!" he said, laughing as she giggled and squished another piece, flinging some across the room.
Once snack time was over, it was time for some cuddles. Murtasim wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close to his chest as he read a soft storybook about animals. Meesam snuggled against him, her eyes fluttering as she listened to his voice. He loved these quiet moments just as much as the playful ones.
"Mee-sam," he said softly, her name a melody on his lips. "You're my little sunshine, you know that? Every day with you is a blessing." He pressed a gentle kiss on her forehead, feeling her warmth against him.
Just then, Meesam let out a yawn, her eyes growing heavy. Murtasim knew it was time for her nap. He carefully lifted her and walked to the crib, laying her down gently. "Sweet dreams, my little lioness," he whispered, tucking a soft blanket around her.
As he watched her drift off to sleep, he felt an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude. Each day spent with Meesam was a gift, filled with laughter, learning, and the kind of joy that only a parent could understand.
Murtasim stepped out of the room, knowing that when she woke, they would have even more adventures waiting for them. For now, he would cherish this moment of peace, knowing that their bond was growing stronger with each passing day.
The sun was be ginning to set, casting a warm golden hue across the luxurious haveli as Murtasim quietly closed the door to the nursery. He took a moment to savor the tranquility, a stark contrast to the energetic playtime they had just shared. The spacious living area, adorned with elegant furnishings and soft pastel decor, felt even cozier in the fading light. He glanced at the clock, realizing it was almost time for Meerab to return from university. He had been counting down the hours, eager to see her after a long day apart.
As he made his way to the living room, he tidied up the remnants of their artistic endeavor—the colorful paintings still spread out on the grand dining table and toys scattered around the marble floor. Just as he finished putting the last toy away, he heard the familiar sound from front door.
"Hi, love!" Meerab said as she stepped through the ornate entrance, her shoulders relaxing as she shed the weight of the day. Her hair fell softly around her shoulders, and her face lit up when she spotted Murtasim. The elegance of her outfit reflected her style—chic yet comfortable, perfect for a day at the university.
"How was your day?" he asked, a smile warming his expression.
"It was wonderful," she replied, her eyes sparkling. "But I missed you both so much!"
Murtasim's smile widened. "We had a great time! You should see the masterpiece we created." He gestured toward the table, where their colorful artwork lay in vibrant disarray.
"Wow, it looks like you two had quite the adventure!" she laughed, moving closer to inspect the paintings. "I love the colors! Did you let her make a mess?"
"Just a little," Murtasim said, winking. "But you know, she made more of a mess than anything! You should have seen her face when she squished the banana. It was priceless."
Meerab chuckled, feeling her heart swell with affection for both her husband and daughter. "I can only imagine! I wish I could've been there. It sounds like she's growing so quickly."
"She really is," Murtasim agreed, a proud smile on his face. "Every day is a new adventure with her. You'll see when she wakes up! I can't wait for you two to have your own playtime."
Just then, they heard a soft cooing from the nursery, and Murtasim's face lit up. "Looks like our little lioness is awake!" He stood up and walked to the door, peeking inside.
Meerab followed him to the nursery, her heart racing with excitement. As Murtasim carefully lifted Meesam from the crib, she opened her eyes, blinking sleepily before focusing on her mother standing in the doorway.
"Mama!" she squealed, her tiny arms reaching out toward Meerab.
Meerab rushed forward, taking her daughter in her arms. "There's my beautiful girl!" she exclaimed, pressing kisses all over Meesam's chubby cheeks. The little girl squealed with delight, her laughter filling the room like music.
Murtasim watched the scene unfold, feeling a swell of pride and love.
As they settled back onto the plush sofa in the grand living room, Meerab held Meesam close, her heart brimming with love. "I'm so glad to be home with you two," she said
They spent the evening creating new artworks, laughter and love echoing through their haveli .
As the night drew to a close, they snuggled together on the sofa, Meesam nestled between them, her tiny hands gripping onto both of their fingers. The warmth of the family enveloped them, and Meerab whispered, "This is perfect."Murtasim squeezed her hand gently. "It really is. I can't imagine my life without you two. You're my everything."
With hearts full and love overflowing, they sat together, cherishing the simple yet profound moments that made up their little family—a testament to the beauty of love, laughter, and the endless adventure of parenthood .
