Monster (Fourth Book To Counting Stars)

Chapter One

*Lilly's P.O.V*

I walked into my old house with everyone beside me. I looked over to see a man standing in my living room.

"Hey Lilly," He says. Then I knew who he was.

"James," I whispered. I dropped whatever I had in my hands an walked up to him. "I thought Justin killed you."

"I escaped. When I did I knew I had to watch over you so when I found you at the chat room I decided maybe it was a good time to watch over her," He says. I hugged him. I felt tears coming down. "Are you mad?"

"No," I said. I let go of the hug. "Justin is dead and we can live in peace." He smiles.

"Yeah. We can live in piece. Now let me help you with those boxes," James says. I smiled and let him come and help me.

*Lilly's P.O.V*

I was in my house with Meg and her best friend Markayla. Since Meg got to know me she likes to hang out at my place. Right now they were upstairs in my room chatting with a friend. The team was off on another case and I was looking for a job. Watching over Meg and her friend was not that bad. I decided to walk upstairs and see what they were up to. I walked up and stood at the door. They were on the computer.

"Oh my goodness, he is so hot," Meg says. Who were they talking about.

"And who's hot?" I asked them. They jumped. They looked at me and Meg smiled.

"I don't think we should tell her," Markayla says.

"We can trust her," Meg says.

"You sure?" Markayla asked her. Meg nodded.

"Come in Lilly," Meg says. I walked in and sat on the bed.

"Who are you talking to?" I asked them.

"Bobby. He is a little older, but he is too cute. Please don't tell Kate," Meg says.

"I won't, but if anything goes wrong I'll come after you," I joked. They smiled. I scrolled up and saw a picture of Bobby. This guy looked so familiar. Was it something about James past that he told me about? Or was it something Kate told me about? Anyway I decided to shake it off and go back downstairs. Soon my phone rang. I went and saw it was Spencer.

"Hey Spence," I say as I picked up the phone.

"Hey, we are done of the case and I was wondering if you wanted to go out for supper Saturday night?" Spencer asked me. I smiled.

"Always," I say. I could hear him smile.

"Okay, I'll see you when we get back," He says.

"Bye love you," I say.

"Love you too," He says. I hanged up and saw Markayla coming downstairs.

"I got to go. My mom just called me," She says. I smiled and nodded.

"Do you want a drive?" I asked her.

"No I don't live far," She says. I smiled. I gave her a smile and she left. I got out my laptop and went on it, looking up a guy name Bobby.

"Lilly?" I heard a voice. I quickly closed my laptop and turned to see Meg standing on the stairs. She came down, and sat next to me. "I know what your doing." She opens my laptop.

"I feel like I have heard that name before. Not in a good way, and I was making sure he wasn't a pedafile," I say. "Look its just an adult thing. And its hard to lose a friend, even if they are very close to you." She sighs.

"Yeah I know. I am worried about the guy turning out to be that in the end," She says. "But why do you do this?"

"Well I had a child that I have lost. I never even got to look after it," I say. "And if anything happen to you on my watch. Kate would kill me." Meg chuckles.

"So is Kate and the team coming home?" She asked me.

"Yeah," I say. She bit her lip.

"Can I get some advice on something?" She asked me. I turned and looked at her.

"Ask me anything. I am here with all ears," I say.

"Well you know how Kate is having that baby soon?" She asked me. I nodded. "Well I feel like, I feel like they are not going to pay enough attention to me." I smiled.

"My brother had the same problem," I say. "He thought that our parents were going to forget about him and just focus on me. But that wasn't the case." She kept her eyes on me, listening to every word I was saying. "When I was born, my parents paid enough attention to my brother and I. Heck even my brother helped out with me. And you can do that for someone that is coming into your life."

"Well, how do I do that?" She asked me.

"Well, that is up to you," I say. "Well you want to go out for some Chinese and I can call Chris and say you wanna sleep over here?" She nods her head and I smiled. I got out my phone and called for some Chinese. Once they had it I called Chris.

"Hello?" He says as he picks up the phone.

"Hey Chris. It's me Lilly," I say.

"Oh hey Lilly," He says.

"Is it okay if Meg stays here for the night?" I asked him.

"Sure. I don't mind," He says. I smiled.

"Great. Thanks Chris. I should have her back before Kate gets home," I say.

"I'll be counting on that," He says. I smiled. I hung up. Meg looked at me.

"We are all good," I say. Meg hugged me.

"Yay," She says. I let go of the hug.

"Now all we need is our Chinese food," I say.

Hey I am back. Well this is the fourth book, but let me tell you this. It doesn't stop here. Anyway I got the title of the book fro one of my favorite songs called Monster by Imagine Dragons. Honestly this song is one of the most amazing songs I have heard. I just hope you get a chance to listen to it.

Anyway this chapter was only about her and Meg and how they have gotten along since Lilly came back. There are many things that will happen in this story, but there is a big question at the end. Anyone know what it is? And if you haven't read the first three books they are all on my works.
