CHAP. 7

Xalia's pov:
I woke up the next morning hella tired. I wasn't one to sleep long hours. Because of my job, I've been the one to sleep 6 hours at most.

I dragged my feet to the bathroom and did my morning routine. I decided that I'd get my hair, nails, lashes, and eyebrows done since it's been a while and I wouldn't have much time to do them.

I made breakfast, cleaned up, and got ready. I wore my natural and curly long hair in a messy bun and let a few strands loose. For my outfit, I decided to wear a matching pink set of sweatpants, and sweatshirt, and a pair of sneakers.

I soon left my mansion and drove to my favorite hair salon. It was my favorite coz my mama used to take me to get my hair done there. I listened to Angels in Tibet by Amaarae to get the good vibes on that morning.

At the last red light, the car right next to me had one of my favorite songs blasting through its speakers. I turned down my music and looked at the driver.

When he turned his head towards my direction, I couldn't believe it. It was Ace! I smiled at him and waved and he did the same too. I don't know what spirit entered me but I started to lipsync the song while dancing as the smile was still plastered on my face.

Ace decided to join in and we danced through the windows together. I was actually having fun and I couldn't deny it. We stopped dancing when the cars behind us honked at us. I laughed out loud and started driving.

I arrived at the mall where the salon was at around lunchtime. Since they would be probably on break, I decided to get some food before going there. I went to the food court and ordered a chocolate shake, a cheeseburger, and fries. I had to add the chicken wings coz the ones from that food court were the best.

As I sat down to enjoy my meal, someone tapped my shoulder. I looked behind me and nobody was there. "Hey baby". Someone whispered in my ear. I stood up quickly and looked at the smiling Ace who started laughing when he saw my reaction.

"It's not funny Ace", I tried to act tough but I ended up laughing with him. "Yes, it is. You should have seen your face." He had tears in his eyes from all the laughing. 

"So whatchu eating? Air?" I asked him. "How about I eat you?" He raised his eyebrows suggestively and that made me laugh even more. " How about we just share mine? Does that sound ok?" I asked with a bright smile on my face. "Of course it does!"

He sat down in front of me and I moved the food in the middle. We started talking and cracking jokes here and there. It was all fun and games until a little Asian kid came up to me. He hung his head low as he fidgeted with his hands. "Hewo. I just wanted to say that you're so pwetty. Will you be my girlfwend?"

He was so cute! I was so obsessed with him that I wanted him as my own child. From his cute chubby cheeks to his cute little pout. His long hair was everything.

My heart melted. I knew I didn't have the nicest personality but that face was irresistible. "Awwwwwww! What's your name honey?" My voice was more softer and gentle than I expected.

"My name's Taehyung but you can call me Tae. So will you be my girlfwend?" He was impatient but it didn't matter. "Of course, I'll be your girlfriend! You're so cute. Who could resist you?"

I ruffled his hair as he smiled and looked up at me. He had a small little smile on his face and if my heart hadn't melted enough, it became a puddle. Now I understand why people have baby fever. They are so cute!

Suddenly, someone cleared their throat. I looked at Ace and he looked like he wasn't having it. He folded his arms and raised an eyebrow at me as his siren eyes pierced through me.

To answer his prayers, Tae's mother hurried to our table. "Sorry for bothering you. I hope he didn't cause any trouble for you". "None at all. Actually he's a really cute boy".

"Why thank you miss. You're too kind. We actually came here to meet his new babysitter to sign the contract but she canceled on our way here". Now this is an opening I can't miss out on.

"If you want, I can be the new babysitter. And I can even do it for free", I quickly offered. My job may be tiresome but I'll still manage to babysit him. It's not like I'll be babysitting every day. I'll make time for it so that I can see Tae and spend time with him. It will also be a way of practicing how to raise a child of my own.

"That would be wonderful! Here's my card. You can call me when you're ready. Have a good day!" The kind woman left. I looked at the card and read out her name. "Kim Na-Bi. Huh. No wonder she's nice. Her name literally means butterfly."

"Yeah whatever", Ace rolled his eyes. "What? Are you sad that a little boy has a crush on me?" I love teasing people. It's payback for what he did to me earlier.

He scoffed. "Uh no. But why did you offer to be his babysitter?" "Cause I wanna practice parenting and also see him every day". I was actually being honest. He huffed. His face showed that he didn't like what I did.

"Relax", I held his gigantic right hand in both of my small ones. "He's not taking me away from you. I'm still here you know." With just that, he calmed down. "What were you doing here anyway?" I remembered to ask.

"I got bored and decided to drive around. Then I met you at the red light and decided to hang out with you even though it was never planned". He said it as if it was normal to follow someone and scare them before laughing at their reaction. I'm still salty about it. "So what are we doing today?"
