Hey Roses. Here's another chapter. Enjoy and tell me what you think of it ✨
Xalia's pov:
The silence was deafening. We were in Ace's car and I was driving to the party's location. I insisted on driving since I knew the shortcuts to the venue but someone wasn't happy with that."Lemme just drive. I'm faster", his salty ass said. I ignored what he said as we approached the familiar gated community. Well, it was familiar to me.
I parked the car outside a random house since I was sure that the owners weren't home and where we were going was jam-packed.
"C'mon. Let's go before the good shit starts", I said while packing up my stuff and changing into my heels.
I hated driving with heels on. They just felt uncomfortable.
He left and ran to my side to open the door for me. He helped me out of the car as a prince would. He looked angelic doing that, his skin being lit up by the street lights.
I locked the car as I guided him to the party. He held my hand midway and for some reason, it brought me a warmth I couldn't resist. I didn't let go of it which brought a cute grin on his face. I suddenly stopped walking which made him look at me with a confused look on his face.
"Let's take a photo before we get there", I said with a small smile. It was random but I wanted to keep this memory to myself. So that at least when that one day comes when we'll be permanently separated, which is coming real soon, I'll have something to remember him by.
He was confused but still agreed. We took a couple of photos and laughed a little. My favorite one was that of our shoes. We were matching and it was unplanned. We chuckled at that and continued walking.
We talked and laughed about all sorts of things until when our ears were greeted by loud music. There were fleets of cars parked outside the familiar white house that had lots of lights and music blasting at full volume.
"So we're here huh", Ace said with a knowing smile. I nodded my head as we went passed the front porch and into the open door. My eyes immediately landed on a tall and good-looking Arab guy with a solo cup in his left hand. When he saw me, his serious face softened and formed a soft smile. "Lia. I thought you'd not show up", Rohaan said as he walked towards me.
His big arms engulfed me in a bear hug. I let go of Ace's hand to hug him. A large smile crept onto my face. He slowly let go and noticed Ace behind me. His face became stoic and said, "What is HE doing here?"
I looked at Ace and he had the same expression.
Nah...did they know each other?
Was there something I was missing?
They held strong eye contact that brought up tension with it. That area of the house felt cold and the people there stared and whispered among themselves, moving away from the two.
No one dared to move.
The looks they gave each other sent shivers down my spine. Rohaan squeezed his solo cup till its contents poured out and dropped it on the floor. To break the awkward tension, I had to speak up. "He's my date. Why?" I answered his question with an awkward smile.
"Xalia. Never let me see you near this maniac ever again. You say you're a monster but he's worse. He's the devil himself," Rohaan spoke with venom dripping from his words. He clearly hated Ace and Ace was no different.
"Miele. I didn't know you were friends with such a freak. It's such a shame to waste your time on this thing"Ace's voice was so cold I got scared...but not for me though.
"Rohaan are you up for- oh shit", Tristan had a shocked and scared face as he stood by the door frame, holding his solo cup."This was not supposed to happen." His eyes widened as they saw me and he called me over. I walked slowly towards him. He hugged me and asked me to explain what had happened. I told him everything as we went out to the backyard where it was a lot less populated and his eyes widened even more as if that was even possible.
"We're fucked. Big time" he took a swig of his Hennesy. "Why? I ask. This didn't make sense to me. I bring Ace to a party then all of a sudden it's at a standstill?
"If those two idiots start a fight right now, You, me, them, and the rest of the gang will serve quite a while. Maybe, if you are lucky coz of your connections, you'll serve 10. Those two maniacs have had a long and rough history. I'm surprised you didn't know anything". Tristan was talking gibberish now. He could see the confusion on my face and sighed.
"So basically, this is what happened. Ace and Rohaan's dads were business partners. These two, coz they were kids, became good friends. They became real close and inseparable. Life was perfect for them. Until one day when it all took a sharp turn. Ace came back home one time when he was 17 and was slapped in the face by a brutal sight. Rohaan's father was sitting on their couch with his mother naked on the floor, bleeding out from her stomach, forehead, and neck. Rohaan's dad was smiling while his hands were bloody, his right holding a dagger. Ace got mad and fought him. He won and used the very dagger that was used to kill his mother to kill Rohaan's dad. When Rohaan walked in, he saw his dad and Ace's mother on the floor dead and Ace bloody with anger rushing through him. Ever since then, the two have been enemies and have even fought to the point where they almost killed each other."
Damn...that was deeper than I thought."Wait, does Rohaan know what happened that made Ace murder his dad tho?" I had to ask. If he did know then he would understand and not be as angry as he is now.
"Have you ever heard of a deaf and stubborn arab? Because that's what your friend in there is. He never wanted to listen to any explanation or to 'talk'. Instead, he stabbed Ace in his arm and walked away, making sure that they would never see each other eye to eye ever again. He thinks Ace killed both of them."
That sounds like him though.
"If I were you, I'd go separate them before they destroy the house", he said while taking another sip of his Henny, making my eyes widen because those two could be maniacs when angry. I left his side and ran into the house where I heard a loud crash and glass breaking. Soon, Rohaan came into sight, lying on the floor trying to raise his head to speak with blood slowly dripping out from his nose and mouth. "So you wanna kill me too? Go ahead then. End me the way you ended them, Ace. GO AHEAD! KILL ME!"Rohaan raised his voice at the giant and scary mafia man. I don't know if he knows he's part of it.
"You're a waste", Ace said lowly as he left, Rohaan still lying on the floor. I followed Ace out with my bag at hand. I held his hand once out and made him stop. He didn't dare to look at me. "Ace, I know you're mad right now but I need you to know this. Despite whatever happened between you and Rohaan, I still care about you okay?" I held both of his hands and made him look at me. He looked angry and defeated but that made my face soften. He looked into my eyes to search for any hint of deceit. When he saw none, he let out a sigh and hugged me. I hugged him back to calm him down. "We should go. The house owners will be home soon," he said. I let him go reluctantly and walked beside him, holding his hand.
Once in the car, I drove back to the hotel as comfortable silence enveloped us. Ace was deep in thought as he watched out the window. I couldn't blame him. It must be tough being seen as the bad guy in the story. I took him to my hotel room where we were to spend the night together...or so we thought.
