Surprise

He opened the door on the passenger seat and gestured me to get in.

"Fifth, I still have a game this afternoon. Plus we left Ally and Sebastian ng walang paalam."

"Just get in please." Malumanay nya sabi.

"No Fifth. Kanina ka pa ganyan. You won't tell me a thing." I crossed my arms and looked at him annoyed.

He sighed and walked to the trunk of his car. He opened it and got a paper bag. It was from a luxury brand.

"I brought sport pants. Its more comfortable than..." then he stared at my legs.

I immediately covered my legs from his stares.

"Don't stare Fifth." Pagsasaway ko sa kanya.

He scoffed. "Pero pag iba pwede." He raised his eyebrows while looking at me.

A smiled crept on my face. I think I know what this is..

"Are you jealous?" natatawa kong tanong sa kanya.

"Just get in and change." He opened the door even wider.

"Pwede naman sa cr ako magpalit." Pangaasar ko pa lalo sa kanya.

"Mona, just change there. My car is fully tinted."

A smile crept on my face as I change into the pants he gave me. I can't believe this guy! He makes me so happy with just the little things.

"Anong nangyari sa binili ko?" Nagtatampong sabi ni Ally habang kumakain na kami.

I looked at Ally and pointed Fifth who is now beside me.

"Napakaconservative naman Alcaraz, way out of character na" sabay irap ni Ally.

Napatawa naman kami ni Sebastian.

Natalo ako sa game in the afternoon that leaves me with no other game. Although I did not won, I feel so happy kasi Fifth was always there beside me.

"Fifth hatid mo na si Mona kasi gabi na. Meron pa kasi kami department meeting 8pm for the finals tomorrow." Kaway ni Ally samin habang paalis.

"Where will you be tomorrow?" tanong ni Fifth sa akin habang nasa byahe pauwi.

"I don't know. Watching other games? Finals na naman tomorrow and I want to support our department. Ikaw?"

His eyes were focused on the road but with my question he quickly glanced at me.

"I want to take you out on a date."

Nararamdaman kong namumula na ang pisngi ko. Buti na lang at di ako tinititigan ni Fifth ngayon.

"Is silence a yes?" he let out a soft chuckle kasi for a while napansin nya na ang tahimik ko.

"Fifth, it's a school event. We still have attendance though."

"Alright." Medyo disappointed nyang sabi.

He may have the authority at school but I don't so kailangan ko umattend ng mga mandatory events para sa attendance.

Kinagabihan I received a text from Fifth na meron lang sya aayusin sa Manila and hahabol na lang daw sya sa school tomorrow. He told me that I should wait for him kasi sabay kami uuwi and may surprise sya.

"Even if this is a public university, may control pa rin mga Alcaraz. Kaya di na rin ako nagtataka na kahit hindi pumasok si Fifth, pinapasa sya ng mga professor." Sagot ni Ally sakin noong sinabi ko sa kanya kung bakit wala si Fifth.

"Mag cr lang ako Ally, una na kayo ni Sebastian sa gymnasium"

Pumasok ako sa restroom and naglagay ng face powder.

"As if she's pretty enough for Fifth." Sabay tawa ng babae na katabi ko sa cr. Nakitawa din naman ang mga kasama neto.

"Her life will be over once Fifth leaves her." Sagot pa ng isa.

Dali dali kong niligpit ang mga dala ko at pinasok sa bag. Ayaw ko na patulan ang mga tsismis na ganito kasi lalo lang magiging magulo ang buhay ko.

I know Fifth. I just have to believe him. 

"What happen with Claire nga ba?" tanong nung isa.

"Diba Fifth took her to dates and was dumped after a month kasi Rexie came back from the Philippines."

Sinasadya nilang lakasan ang boses para marinig ko. 

I should not care.

I should be leaving but right now my feet does not want to leave kasi deep inside I want to know what happen with Claire. 

Dahan dahan ko niligpit ang mga gamit ko, nagkukunwari na may hinahanap sa loob ng bag. 

I saw the girl smirk. She knew I took the bait.

"Eh ano pa nga ba? Rexie is the girlfriend way before high school. Sila na naka-arrange marriage. It's just a phase for Fifth. You know how guys wanted to play before really settling to one person for the rest of their lives."

Umalis na ako kaagad kahit feeling ko madami pa sila gusto iparinig sa akin. 

Marriage? But Fifth is courting me. 

Naalala ko bigla kung paano i-favor ni Mr. Fourth si Rexie. But why won't they disclose sa public kung may arrange marriage na pala? Hindi ba sabi ni Ally, si Rexie ang habol ng habol kay Fifth and galit si Fifth kay Rexie dahil siya ang dahilan kung bakit nagaway sila ng kapatid nya. 

Why does their action says otherwise? Magkasama pa din sila sa mga business meetings. Fifth is still seeing Rexie and she is still close with the family? 

"Did something happen Mona?" nakabalik ako ng gym and tinabihan sina Ally and Sebastian.

Are they telling the truth? Is this just a phase? Everything na pinakita sakin ni Fifth were all not serious. It's just a distraction from Rexie? Kasi ang ending nakasulat na. Rexie and Fifth are bound to be married? 

"Hey." Sebastian called me once more kasi napansin nya na I am in deep thought.

"It's nothing." I smiled and looked at my phone.

No calls or text from Fifth.

I tried dialing his number. 

I have to have answers. I need to hear it from Fifth. 

After ilang ring, natauhan ako. 

What the hell am I doing? Am I really doubting Fifth right now? 

I ended the call but after ilang seconds nakita ko nag-ring ang phone ko. 

It was Fifth. 

"Hi baby, sorry I was busy I forgot to call you. Nasa school ka na ba?"

Should I ask him?

"Yes I am at school."

"I'll be there in about three hou..."

"Fifth, who's that?" I heard a familiar voice called him on the background.

"Rexie, go back to your room."
