'The first day here was many years ago, this is the last year I will be here in this chaos of a warzone. Pretty soon it will be the last time I will look at this hell hole of an establishment, and think back,' Caelob thought gazing at the building that had brought nothing but pain and suffering.
Coming back to reality as his surroundings came back into view an aroura hanging over his head.
"Senior High. What a freak show." He muttered
'But we just call it high school.'
Caelob quickly walked to campus for the first time since he left Summer school, which was two weeks ago. English, the first class of the day, and the most terrible way to start it.
"Okay Class!" Bellowed the teacher as everyone began to mind their own business. "My name is Jesse Lou Ruiz, but you may call me Ms. Ruiz. Today were going to start introducing our syllabus to the class, so I would like everyone to-"
The class began to talk over her as everyone began recognizing each other from the year before.
"Excuse me!" She cried, "I wasn't done talking. It seems like were eager to start homework on the first day aren't we?"
The class groaned in awe.
"No teacher!" a student cried. "I'll be good, I'll stop talking right now, watch," said one student.
"Well you 'may' be acting good but is everyone else being good? I didn't think so."
The student got up and said, "Everyone shut up and be quiet, I don't want homework on the first day."
Everyone was dead silent, a little snickering from here and there.
"Well that's rude." Ms. Ruiz muttered.
"Well it got them quiet didn't it?"
"Well yeah but-"
"I may be shooting myself in the foot but we kids are ruthless, you got to have some aggression on us teach."
Ms. Ruiz looked at him with disregard. "Okay then, well now that I have everyone's attention, I like to go over roll call please, then we'll go through what we will need and what we'll be doing for the first week.
Everyone was enjoying their first day, except for Caelob. He kept staring at the few desks next to him, sitting there was Roica. A close friend, now turned to enemy.
'I don't believe this, He thought. I can't believe I'm in the same class as the worst human being to ever exist.' Caelob glanced at her again catching her beauty. 'Well, Maybe not the worst person to ever exist. Still, I think it was for the best that we went our separate ways, who knows what terrible things she would have dragged me into this time. It's not like in the event that if it did happen that she'd care for me at all in the first place.'
"Mr. Reyes, I like to carry on with role if I may." Snapped Ms. Ruiz.
Caelob quietly raised his hand snapping out of it, everyone giving him the stink eye.
"H-here. Sorry Ms. Ruiz."
School had dragged on for what seemed like an eternity. 'Every thing we do at here at Province, we do with pride!' chanted the intercoms as everyone went to lunch Caelob sat by himself watching his former friends in the distance, not having a care in the world. Not one possible expression on their face wondered where Caelob was or how he carried on. The last class, and possibly the least, was Mr. Alexander and his Geology class, the 7th period. Caelob was bunched up with the worsts of the worst. A chit chatter, a wierdo, and possibly a gang banger at the age of 17.
'Como Despiadado.' Caelob thought, attempting to hide his innocence through a facade of toughness.
He had been a goody two shoes since the day he was born. Never intentionally broke a rule and always stood by his friends, now things were different. It was high school, kill or be killed. Caelob did not have this mentality set in his mind, so he hid, as each and every one of his friends passed him by. Going down a road he could no longer follow blindly through trusts and companionship. It resorted down all the way to Caelob's instincts, of which he had none.
"Okay guys," Mr. Alexander muttered in a very upset tone. "Since you guys wouldn't stop being disruptive, were gonna have to extend the lesson-"
Everyone in the class began to throw a fit.
"Hey!" He shouted. "Either you guys get it together or I'm calling securty to make you all stay."
"Glad to say I did my part," Muttered another named Kayde Eager to leave.
"Can you believe this man? this whole bs sucks my guy the teacher's a fricking moron," A kid in the back said bluntly over everyone pouting in their seats as some began to line up by the door.
Benniks was his name; Drama kid, as in hamlet and shakespeare, or so they said. The bell had rang, a few seconds had passed until Mr. Alexander gave in.
"Alright you guys," He shouted. "Since it's the first day you guys are off the hook, but the next time you guys are disruptive-"
The kids who were by the door bolted out to the hallway, he turned to the students still seat as others got up and began to leave.
"The next time you guys are disruptive, I'll make sure you guys stay and if you still wanna walk out on me you may walk out with a detention slip in your hand."
The remaining students along with Caelob sat quiet as Mr. Alexander bellowed his last.
"Okay now you may leave, thank you to those who stayed, take care everyone and have a good week. And remember guys, september is suicide prevention month. If you know anyone who needs talking to please send them over, we are always open to lend a hand for anyone who needs it. Thank you guys and again have a good one."
Caelob walked out of the class quietly ignoring all that came his way putting on his headphones as he walked to the office to pick up his skateboard. Ms. Gray sat in the back looking at her tablet when she noticed Caelob walking in.
"Mr. Reyes, Come to get your skateboard?" She huffed.
"Yes Ma'am," he announced nervously.
