Snapping out of its daze, the furious bird in black began to fly towards Caelob's face again with malicious intent.
Caelob ran in panic not wanting to get scratched.
"You ran into me!" He cried.
CAW!
"Almost there," Caelob panted. "Just a few more steps to the house."
He ran up the door, quickly yanking out his keys as the bird began to dive at him once again. His keys slipped out of his hand.
"Oh no!" he shouted. "Crap crap crap crap!"
He cycled through the key ring until he grabbed the right one, the bird about to strike him from behind. Finding the key, Caelob stabs it through the lock forcefully turning the knob barricading the door into the house. Caelob falls to the ground, the crow dives overhead crashing into the living room wall.
"Christ almighty what in the world is that?!" Said a voice from the kitchen as it ran into the living room.
It was Katira, Caelob's mother, holding a wooden spoon in her hand.
"AHH!" she screamed. "Caelob Reyes get that thing out of the house before it gives us something!"
The crow brushed itself off and began to wander around the house. A giant crater lay in the wall where the bird struck its head.
CAW.
"Mother I swear, that thing tried to kill me on the way home!" Caelob shouted pointing at it vigorously.
Caelob's little brother, Davian, ran into the room to see the commotion.
"Birdie!" he shouted as his mother picked him up, dragging him away from the potentially diseased crow. Caelob slowly got up.
"You should have seen it, I was walking minding my own business an-"
"I thought we were through with this Caelob, I said, no more bringing stray animals inside the house!"
Caelob picked up the bird, it began to pick at his hands as he carried it in his arms.
"M-mom I swear you have to- Ah! Can you stop that?!"
Caelob squeezed is grip on the bird so it would stop biting him. His mother took a deep breath.
"I don't care what you do to the bird. just, get it out."
Quietly Caelob opened the front door, He set the crow in the middle of the street just before their driveway. It stared at him.
"Welp, congratulations," he muttered. "You have gotten me into trouble, stupid bird."
SQUAWK
The crow flew away in a huff, Caelob stood there watching it fly away into the distance until he was no longer able to see it. That evening, everyone quietly sat at the dinner table. Caelob and his mother sharing awkward silence as Davian sat playing with his mecca figure. Caelob broke the silence dropping his silverware.
"Mom I swear that bird was trying to kill me-"
"Are you sure you didn't do anything to make that bird angr-"
