Grace :

" Eat." Adrik said, serving the pancakes and sandwich I had asked for and settling on the other side of the table.

I dip the sandwich in mayonnaise and take a bite. God, it takes like heaven.

" Hmm.... This is so freaking good. You should leave your mafia thing and become a chef." I tell him and dig in my chocolate pancakes. That's when it hits me, who taught him to cook? Where is his family? I mean - there's no one at his house. I just saw the old lady here yesterday and his guards at the house.

" What is it?" Adrik asks me, chewing his sandwich.

" Huh? Nothing." I tell him, knowing he would probably brush me off.

" Grace, you should know that I don't like to repeat my questions. Whatever is it just ask me" he says looking at me with his intense grey eyes. What is the deal with him? Why did my father want me to marry him? The curiosity in me takes the better of me as I push the plate aside.

I heave in a sigh and I ask him, " Why did my father want me to marry you?" I ask him hoping there's no story to it.

" Hmm and why should I answer that?" He answered me. I knew he would do this, brush me off.

" If you are not going to answer my questions then don't tell me to ask them." I throw the words at him, and get up from the chair to leave. As I'm about to leave Adrik gets up and takes my wrist in a hard grip pulling me close against him so that I can breathe his bourbon and sin breath. He twisted me around and buried his neck in my hair.

" Fucking sin." he whispered in a husky voice. I'm sure he could hear my heart beating like a fucking car in a race.

" Ad - Adrik," I manage to stammer out as he cuts me off and says, " Let's have a deal. You answer one question and so do I. If one of us doesn't answer a question they do something the other one asks them to do." he says, turning me around to face him with a sinister smirk masked on his face. He's -

" Deal?" he asked me.

" God, okay." I told him and turned to leave and said, " Get the plates to our room Adrik, I'm still hungry." as I hear him chuckle.
