Serkan blinked as the first rays of sunshine hit the loft. His eyes fell on the most heart warming sight he had seen in years while waking up.

Kiraz and Eda laying right beside him, Kiraz curled against his arm, and Eda's arms over Kiraz, almost on his chest, she was craddling Kiraz's back to her chest, her face level to his and just inhes away.

He noted the new lines from closer, worry, dark circles. But at least, her face was somewhat relaxed at the moment and she was sleeping soundly. The last time he watched her sleeping, during Kiraz's transplant at the Hospital, she was shaken by nightmares and restless.

She was so beautiful to him, even after the years had worn and shrunk her face, her skin so pale, it had to be five shades below the golden hue he remembered.

Serkan shut his eyes again, hearing Eda's soft breaths and feeling Kiraz's small arms around him, it felt like heaven. And for the first time in years, Serkan peacefully felt asleep again, instead of restlessly shifting and waking up because he couldn't sleep.

Eda blinked, an hour later, the sun shining bright and blinding her too, she saw Serkan's face from close and a peaceful smile stretched on her lips, but after a second, she realised and blinked.

She looked down at Kiraz and removed her hands from Serkan's chest to place them back on her daughter's waist and moved her face back, down and closer to Kiraz.

It was way too odd, waking to this sight, but as she looked at Kiraz's peaceful face against Serkan's arm, Eda's heart swelled and she allowed herself to bask in the sight, if only for five minutes, her hand slowly stroking Kiraz's long brown hair. She shut her eyes, resting her tired eyelids.

Their peace was interrupted by the lock turning and the door opening, Serkan blinked with the noise and Eda opened her eyes.

"Serkan ?" Aydan walked in and froze at the sight, seeing Eda and Serkan rise from sofa, right next to each other, sharing the same blanket, and visibly waking from sleep.

Eda rubbed her eyes as Serkan stretched, his back aching from the sofa.

"What is she doing here Serkan ?!" Aydan screetched in shock.

Serkan's eyes shifted to Aydan and he frowned, looking down between them. Aydan hadn't seen Kiraz's still sleeping tiny body between them.

"What are you doing here Anne ? Since when did you have a key ?" He demanded, rising.

"Seyfi had one. You weren't home for so long, I had to check on you, I am your mother. What is this woman doing here ? I told you she was a gold digger, she's getting into your pants for your money." Aydan stared at Eda with spite, Eda buttoned up the two upper buttons of her blouse that had come lose in the night.

"Anne." Serkan warned, he didn't want to raise his voice and wake Kiraz up.

Aydan rounded the corner of the sofa and grabbed Eda's arm. "Get out of here!" She attempted to drag her but Eda calmly snatched her arm back.

"Don't touch me." She snapped, and at her whispering tone, Aydan's eyes fell on Kiraz's sleeping form.

"I came to drop Kiraz yesterday and stayed, we fell asleep, it won't happen again." Eda coldly clarified.

"You don't have to anwser to her Eda. Anne, this is none of your business, Kiraz is my daughter and Eda's the mother of my only child. They have all and every right in my home." Serkan clearly stated, he was so exhausted of his mother undoing the little of progress he did with Eda each time.

"She's playing a game, she'll trap you and leave you again Serkan, and she'll take Kiraz along. She'll steal her from you, at least get a legal custody agreement, why are you so foolish." Aydan snapped at him.
