Sitting outside the tent , holding Hermione's wand , Harry is just looking at the snow laid ground with empty.. Their decision to visit Gordic Hollow turns out to be one of the worst decision of their life . Hermione's calculations about the possibility of finding Gryffindor sword there ,turns out to be wrong. It's not like Harry couldn't see the flaws in her plan but he decided not to point it out in fear of losing the chance to visit his Parents home, to his home. Their plan was miscalculated mostly driven by his emotions and Hermione's desperation to find a lead , leading them into a life -death situation and finally resulting into the loss of his wand.
He knows that it was not Hermione's fault but still he can't help the slight wedge of resentment towards her which is fuelled by the feeling of emotions that ,he was sure, doesn't belong to him. As if being in Voldemort's mind is not enough, seeing the murder of his own parents through eyes of their murderer is not enough , that right now he is feeling the hopelessness, despair and overwhelmed guilt of some unknown person. He wanted to tell Hermione about that but earlier he didn't want to burden her with one more worry and right now he didn't want to talk to her, afraid that he will end up saying something that would hurt her .
Already they had a row after reading Rita Skeeter's book on Dumbledore. Harry can't understand that why Hermione was convinced that Dumbledore really cares about him, because what he can infer after looking back to his life,he never really did . Even if the words of written on the book is lie , the letters of Dumbledore is not . Hermione has the explanation of him being young.
Young.
The age which was excuse for Dumbledore to incline towards dark power,is the same age in which Harry and Hermione are wandering across the forest, trying to look fight against the wrong, even if they are getting nothing instead of failure. But Hermione still has the excuse of age.
Harry's musing cut short when his eyes falls on A bright silver light appeared right ahead of him, moving through the trees.
Whatever the source, it was moving soundlessly.
The light seemed simply to drift toward him.He jumped to his feet, his voice frozen in his throat, and raised Hermione's wand.
He screwed up his eyes as the light became blinding, the trees in front of it pitch black in silhouette, and still the thing came closer…And then the source of the light stepped out from behind an oak.
It was a silver white doe, moon-bright and dazzling, picking her way over the ground, still silent, and leaving no hoofprints in the fine powdering of snow.
She stepped toward him, her beautiful head with its wide, long-lashed eyes held high. They stared at each other for some second then it turns back and starts walking away and He walked behind her .It stops after some seconds.
He held his wand high as he stood there, listening to the sounds of the forest, to distant crackles of twigs, soft swishes of snow.
Was he about to be attacked?
Had she enticed him into an ambush?
Was he imagining that somebody stood beyond the reach of the wandlight, watching him?He held the wand higher.
Nobody ran out at him, no flash of green light burst from behind a tree.
Why, then, had she led him to this ?Something gleamed in the light of the wand, and Harry spun about, but all that was there was a small, frozen pool, its black, cracked surface glittering as he raised his wand higher to examine it.
There laid the sword, Sword of Gryffindor , miraculously lying at the bottom of the pool. Is it real? He looks around for some trap but there was nothing and he know that it is not a trap, he is getting the strong intuition that this is put here for him.
Striping his clothes off , he jumped in the pool forgetting about the Locket that is hanging in his neck , forgetting the locket is not any inanimate object but contain a fragment of life in it. Life that can be ended by the sword . However Locket remind him about its presence by tightening around his neck . He was almost sure that he is going to die . There was nothing left that he could do and arms closed around him is surely death .
