The Shiréts are highly skilled chefs. Only 1% of cooks in the kingdom were born with these abilities, which are said to be a gift from the skies above.

They belong to the wizard clan.

They are well-known not only for their culinary skills but also for the familial power that only members of the family can inherit.

A white braided strip in the front confirms their status as members of the Shirét family. With this genetic power, they can grow any form of fruit, seasoning, vegetable, and many more on soil in a matter of seconds.

Ghuine Shirét is the Shirét family's first son, and he inherits that power. He enjoyed a prosperous life because of his father and mother's well-known reputation in Girrel, a village in Moses Kingdom.

Despite their prosperity, however, beneath their fortune and contentment was a youngster who was emotionally mistreated by their parents.

Ghuine is an unwanted child. His birth was unexpected and unplanned, and as a result, he was mistreated by his own parents.

This, however, did not bring Ghuine down. He looked up to his parents and desired to be a professional chef like them when he grew up.

He began practicing every day when he was quite young. And he was accompanied by the family's nanny to every single practice.

She was like Ghuine's second mother. She taught him to cook and bake, lavished him with love and affection, and even cared for him until he was in his early twenties.

Ghuine entered his first tournament in his hometown one day, at a young age. He unexpectedly won first place.

He handed the prize to his parents with a trophy in his hand and a bright smile on his face.

"Look at this, Mother, Father! I won first place!" He exclaimed happily.

He expected to be showered with compliments and love because he felt this would make his parents very happy, but instead he was given the cold shoulder.

"As you should, or our reputation will be on the line."

That was the end of it.

Because of what his mother said, a tiny tear developed in his heart. Although it hurts him, he will not give up until he receives acknowledgement from his parents.

He has been participating in competitions all over the nation during the last few months. Winning first place here and there in town and out of town.

At the age of 12, he was a hot topic in the food category, and the Shirét family's popularity skyrocketed in just a few months.

Ghuine was excited to return home with the awards and trophies he had won. And, to his astonishment, his parents were waiting for him outside when he returned home.

He leaped out of the carriage with a wide smile, overjoyed to see them after competing in numerous towns.

"Mother! Father!" He yelled excitedly as he ran towards them, then bowed, still showing his respect. "Mother, Father, I won first place in all the—"

"—Ghuine." His father interrupted him.

The boy assumed that his father was going to chastise him again based on the tone of his voice. He frowned and dropped his head, bracing himself for the verbal attack.

"I would like you to meet someone."

The boy sighed in relief, relieved that what he anticipated didn't happen, and raised his head to see a child, shorter than him and younger than him, emerge timidly from his mother's rear.
