Yumi gently opened her eyes to find herself alone in a misty cosmos, with no one in sight. As she got up, she felt a sharp pain in her head, like if she had drank too much the night before.

However, she was not alone. She felt an unhuman-like presence behind her as soon as she grunted in pain. She couldn't ignore it as she jerked around, slightly apprehensive. Her heartbeat became more audible as her breathing became heavier.

"Hello?" Her words echoed as she continued to gaze around warily.

"I see you're awake," a voice echoed throughout the universe, sounding like they were speaking into a microphone.

The abrupt, deep voice made her gasp audibly in terror. "Who's there?" she cried, shifting behind her, looking for the individual who she was speaking to.

"Do not fear, young one. I am not a harm to humankind."

"T-then, who are you? W-why can't I see you?" she yelled, looking about for the unknown speaker but only seeing a foggy atmosphere.

"The name is Isten, the God of this other world you entered."

"Isten?" She recalled the conversation she had with the Grandma spirit, which came back to her swiftly. "You're the God mentioned by the spirit."

"Correct."

"But... does this mean I died?" she wondered, then suddenly remembered the death of her friend. "Heric—where's Heric?"

"You're not dead, young one." He quickly adds, "I brought your spirit here to have a talk about your said friend, Heric."

She bowed and knelt. "Please, I beg you; I'll do anything to keep him alive, even if it means risking my own life." Her voice sounded desperate.

"Child, once someone from another universe dies in mine, I'm afraid I can't do anything about it."

"But you're the God of this world," her disbelieving voice answered. "You have the power to resurrect him, right?"

"Indeed, I do."

"Then—."

"But I'm afraid I can't let that happen."

"And why not? "

"The man had already been alerted and had been taught of the consequences; he chose to stay despite being warned."

Tears began to form. It confuses her why Heric didn't bother telling her such vital information beforehand. Even if they stopped playing, they could still see each other in the physical world. So why?

"However, there is one way to resurrect him," and suddenly, Yumi's pulse quickened in relief while her head jerked up, her eyes shining with hope. "But there's one condition."

"Conditions? Alright, I'll do anything!" She desperately said.

"As you saw with the lady you met before the battle, people who have been reincarnated will no longer be able to go back to the world they came from."

Her hope collapsed when she realized that even if she did save him, he would be confined here and she would no longer be able to see him.

"We can save your friend, but he'll no longer be an ordinary human or a wizard. He'll be an angel, a spirit guide to help other people like yourself choose a path they might regret."

Yumi fell silent after hearing the circumstances. She felt regret and confusion in her heart all of a sudden. All of this made her wonder: why?

"Why us?" she blurted out.
