Chapter 8

The group's banter continued as they speculated about the possible romance between their classmates. They all had a good laugh, but deep down, Nitya couldn't help but be a little intrigued by the idea.

As days passed, Nitya couldn't ignore the subtle interactions between Aman and Mehul any longer. They seemed to always sit together during class, sharing notes and exchanging glances. One day, as they were all hanging out after school, Nitya noticed Aman and Mehul sitting close to each other, their arms touching in a seemingly accidental but very deliberate way.

Unable to contain her curiosity, Nitya decided to approach the topic with a bit more subtlety. She turned to Jenisha and asked, "Hey, Jeni, do you think there's something more going on between Aman and Mehul? I mean, they do seem pretty close, don't they?"

Jenisha observed them for a moment and then shrugged, saying, "I still think they're just friends, but maybe they've become really close recently. You know how friendships can develop over time."

Yuvika chimed in, "I agree with Jeni. They could just have a really strong bond. Not everything has to be about romantic relationships."

Arushi added, "Yeah, I haven't seen any evidence of them being more than friends. Maybe Nitya's just seeing things."

Nitya sighed, feeling a bit embarrassed by her earlier speculations. "You're probably right, guys. I might be reading too much into it."

As they continued their conversation, Nitya couldn't help but wonder if she was indeed overthinking things. Aman and Mehul might simply be close friends, and she didn't want to create unnecessary drama. But there was always a part of her that enjoyed a good mystery, and the idea of uncovering secrets was too tempting to resist.
For now, she decided to watch their interactions with a more open mind and see where they led.

After all, high school was full of surprises, and sometimes,
love could be found in the most unexpected places.
