It had been two years since Marina Petrov and her companion had negotiated, with cunning and cold blood, the final surrender of enemy forces in Afghanistan, an unlikely outcome that guaranteed the American army an unprecedented strategic victory

Her videos alternated between videos of various video games, self-defense advice, behind-the-scenes footage of military life, war chronicles and relaxed moments with her partner, showing the other side of the woman who had once disarmed men with a single look.
In just two years, her name was already echoing among the most influential people on social media
And the numbers grew at a dizzying rate, with millions of followers, invitations to events, sponsorships
