My coworker, best friend, and crush, Medicine Pocket is one of the...eccentric kinds...
At least that's what I figured because people were really weary of them...
I was also one of the weary people who were concerned about her.
But then, as I got closer to him, I started getting them more.

She told me that the reason why she was a 'lone alpha dog' in the first place was because he didn't really know their parents—
Causing her to act this way.
I still found him mentally unhinged and concerning sometimes, but that is what I liked about them.

She also has a bad habit of...teasing me.
he knows just how to get me flustered and weak with their stupid but romantic jokes.
It honestly gives me mixed signals and I actually don't know if she knows that I like them or if he was just joking with me.
It doesn't matter though, I still liked it and it made me run away from her every time.

"Medicine Pocket! Do you need any help?" I ask her. I finished all of my tasks and got bored, so I went to Medicine Pocket if he wanted my help.
"Sure...You can just help my little friend eat while I prepare a cure for his sickness, I found him in the alleyway a few hours ago."
He orders me to do, this is another thing I like about them, they really care for animals; especially dogs.

"You got it..."
"And be careful! This one's sick and fragile so be gentle!—"
"I know—"
I weakly say.
I then walked towards the little critter and started feeding them dog food.
As I was feeding him, I took a good look at him.
This beautiful puppy had 3 different colors on him, the base of his fur being white.
Huge, droopy, brown eyes were staring back at me.
I think I can see why Medicine Pocket loves dogs.

I finished feeding him, so I just softly played with him.
Medicine Pocket was still making a cure for them, it's been an hour now.
"I'm naming you, Cookie Dough, CD for short."
I loudly whisper, I'm sure Medicine Pocket heard me.
"That's a...creative? Name you gave him...but I guess I accept it...?" They said.

I felt them rest her head on my shoulder.
I almost punch them ON THE SPOT.
My breathing started getting lighter as my face erupted.
"I—um—err..." I struggled to find words but failed.
Damnit, why would you tease at a time like this.
I felt like as if all hope is lost when his arm wraps itself around my waist.
Jesus Christ I think I'm going to faint.

They are doing all this teasing again,
But the only difference is that I'm not running away this time. It was quite actually the opposite of that, I was loving it.
"Are you enjoying this, (name)?"
I stay quiet at first, then I answered in a soft whisper,
"Y-yes...but I do not think this is what friends are supposed to be doing..."
"But what if...I wanted us to be more than that?..." she turns her head, still on my shoulder, whispering on my ear.

What the fuck.
What the actual fuck.
Is this actually happening right now?
Is this a prank?
Okay camera people you guys can get out of your hiding places now—
Oh there was no one here but us and the poor, poor puppy.
I'm so sorry you had to see us like this...

I start procrastinating, completely forgetting the situation I'm in.
Medicine Pocket started getting impatient, so he squeezed me tighter.
And pants heavily on my ear.
I snap out of my own little world.

"Well?"
"I-...would love to?"
"Was that a question."
"NO! No...I actually mean it—"
He kisses my cheek, standing up.
"Sorry for ending that session so fast sweet cheeks, our little friend here still needs his treatment."
Sweet cheeks? But...which one?
My mind started running off again, my face still warm.

"Hear you go little CD, you'll feel all better in the mornin'" I heard them taking to Cookie Dough.
I was still frozen, still in shock of the intimate moment we just had.
"Woah! Did I traumatize you? I really hope I didn't though..." She starts getting worried.

"Oh you didn't traumatize me...I'm just a bit in shock that's all..."
Medicine Pocket knelt down in front of me, holding my hands in hers.
"If that was a little too much for you, I'm so sorry...I just didn't know how to approach you with that type of topic...so I just did what I did—"
"I told you Medicine Pocket, I was just surprised!" I laugh, getting my usual attitude back.

"I really hope so, I wouldn't want my (significant other) getting scared of me—"
He gets cut off by me giving them a hug.
I buried my self in her, savoring our embrace.
They wrap her arms around me as we shared another moment together.
